  • Perhaps she was worrying unnecessarily, but Incognita was terribly afraid of losing Inky-Blinky. He is her friend, her confidante, her Minister of Defense. She would be lost without him. It wasn’t that Cog hasn’t TRIED to make new friends in the past… and perhaps it was just that she hasn’t found the right crowd. Other people are a mystery… In moments of self-doubt and uncertainty, Cog likes to turn to her favorite comedy poet, T.S Eliot… “What is hell? Hell is oneself, Hell is alone, the other figures in it Merely projections. There is nothing to escape from And nothing to escape to. One is always alone.” He always puts a smile back on her face.

  • Acrylics on canvas. ’..... And the price of cabbages!’ Conversations on the street between neighbours, perhaps school mates or old friends. In this picture I try to reflect life’s paths, choices taken, fate.

  • Acrylic abstract techniques applied to classic beauty’s face. Added text as wanted to, yet felt it worked as well. / At this stage I felt I was holding a lot of words & emotions that I couldn’t let pass my lips. / Hence, the expressionistic style I used, loosely applying paint, letting it drip and layer over eachother to create interesting effects to the face. painted by Nicole Whitty SOLD as a Canvas Print

  • Many, many years ago I was at the Bottom Line in the Village to listen to Don McLean and was mesmerized by the simplicity of his performance. Lori Lieberman (1971) wrote Killing Me Softly with His Blues in response to seeing Don McLean. It was later covered by Roberta Flack (1973) and still later by the Fugees (1996). Killing Me Softly is a song that came to mind as I made this image which has nothing to do with Don McClean, but does have to do with being moved by music. I worry about the fate of music in schools as I hear from friends that so many school systems seem to be cutting the arts from their offerings for students. In my world, there is nothing as essential or important as preserving the arts both in and out of school. Best viewed large.
