been reading about tribal child raising and the benefits, and we know I like birds… I began this art as abstract patterns, bubbles of pattern that transformed when I realised by putting a ‘fork in the road’ to the concentric circles, that I created an eye and beak. Before that, it could’ve been shown either way up. also, it transformed from earthy brown colours, to a colourful bird. ‘Is it art? ‘my teacher used to always question. He’s not here now. He’s just asking the question still! in my head! I like it-it’s bright, colouful and alive.

In remote villages in the mountains of northern Thailand, the children in some ethnic groups including Karen Pwo, smoked rough tobacco cheroots and pipes. When schools were established in the 1980s, the practice declined. The parents, also avid smokers and betel chewers, had no idea that smoking was bad for their children’s health. Taken in the early 1980’s with a Nikon FM2, Nikkor 28mm lense and kodachrome slide film. Natural light.

sold two copies so far,, thankyou so much * I was at the park the other day with my grandchild .. and saw this bird on the monkeybar:).. looked as if he had all the time in the world..and not a care to his name. so I painted him and hope you enjoy it. as much as I did watching him. . The sparrow is a small bird that is not considered to be of much consequence. as I was sitting at the hospital.. waiting for my hubbys discharge.. so many thoughts running thru my mind these sheets had just been placed.. the sun was gleaming in .. it is a new day update: thanks for your thoughts and prayers for my hubby.. he is better.. and following doctors orders.. it will be a battle everyday .. and he has always been a fighter.. so , on with the life.. this is a celebration photo :).. not a sad one.. and a challenge of the group Nirvana presented itself for an opportunity of a loving collaboration between my cousin and I. Today I celebrate the beauty of two lovely breasts / breasts that rise and fall with each breath I take. Beneath them lie my heart and very soul / which they surround and keep safe. I nestle them in delicate lace and smooth satin / and anoint them with soothing oils. No longer do I wish them larger or smaller / or anything other than how they are right now. They are the beauty of my womanhood / myself as nurturer and lover and friend. My breasts are not who I am but a sacred part of me / and today I celebrate their beauty.
