This is the first piece that I read during my Mindfulness training…it holds a special place in my heart….as does the colour blue… Derek Walcott – “Love after Love” The time will come, when, with elation, / you will greet yourself arriving / at your own door, in your own mirror, / and each will smile at the other’s welcome, / and say sit here. Eat. / You will love again the stranger who was your self. / Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart to itself, / to the stranger who has loved you all your life, / whom you ignored for another, / who knows you by heart. / Take down the love letters from the bookshelf, / the photographs, the desperate notes, / peel your own image from the mirror. / Sit. Feast on your life.
My husband, youngest son (now, almost 33) and I decided we needed to breath some fresh air for a change so we went for a drive today up to Nora Lake…this is a manmade lake (the size of a large pond) just outside of Shingletown in North Eastern CA…..(just a little above 3,000 foot elevation)....the sky was actually blue! That was a real treat and we could take deep breaths…..it was wonderful…...and to top it off we had fresh Trout for dinner! I hope you enjoy this image…I shot this one just before we left….the later in the day, the better the color and reflections….this is 100% unedited…right out of the camera…..........enjoy! / / / _____ / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission. Please see the website www.ihatecinderella.com to reserve a copy. Due for release in December Forget the fairytale. Make your own! Who hasn’t had their heart broken? / Who hasn’t cried for days and been unable to eat, sleep or concentrate? / Who can honestly say they haven’t asked their best friend: “When will this pain stop? / When will I get over him?” This book is for those girls, for all of us. / Those girls who let some guy into their heads and hearts, putting aside their own plans and ambitions, to later feel there is nothing left inside their heart anyway. Lucy Summers is one of those girls. Three weeks after her heart has been broken, she travels for work, when the plane crashes halfway. She falls deep into the ocean where she is saved, as only a loving mother, a patient best friend and a healthy dose of chocolate could do, by a mermaid named Obelia. Together they reignite Lucy’s passion for drawing and re-establish her sense of her self-worth. / Lucy learns that you have to know what you want to be able to get it! This book will give you the tools to heal your heart, your head / and your sense of self. ‘A stunning debut novel that takes you far from here.’ ‘A wonderful book for a broken heart.’ ‘I hate Cinderella is inspiring, evocative and delightful.’

soft pastel on canson I painted my hand in 2001 when I was going to massage school and first felt the sensation of healing energy flowing through body and out my hands. That’s when I began to believe in the power of pure love. I’ve been wanting to upload this ever since I saw Helena Nelson Reed’s Phoenix Appeal Butterfly Healer. Finally got it scanned….. Please read Helena’s words and view the other hands posted by clicking the links below: The hands in these paintings are my own and painted life size. They are meant to be expereinced not only as art, but as a focusing tool. By placing your own hand upon the image and concentrating on the colors and undualting lines, what they represent, and endevoring to sense this within your own fingertips and palms, the mind is directed toward awareness. Occupied, it ceases its chatter and allows you to be directly in the body, in the present moment rather than thought – traveling to the chores and concerns of the future or dwelling in a remembered past . Just focus on feeling the colors and what they symbolize to yourself and imagine pulling this sensation into the hand, to the heart and throughout the body. Then radiate it outward. Dont direct or worry about where its going anymore than the sun and stars concern themselves with where their light shines. Just focus on the sensation. In time you’ll be able to do this practice without a painting. Its a form of cleansing, washing away the dust and debris of the road. This collage was inspired by the tragic tale of Shakespeare’s Ophelia… Gertrude’s soliloquy (from Act 4 Scene 7): ”...There is a willow grows aslant a brook, / That shows his hoar leaves in the glassy stream; / There with fantastic garlands did she come / Of crow-flowers, nettles, daisies, and long purples / That liberal shepherds give a grosser name, / But our cold maids do dead men’s fingers call them: / There, on the pendent boughs her coronet weeds / Clambering to hang, an envious sliver broke; / When down her weedy trophies and herself / Fell in the weeping brook. Her clothes spread wide; / And, mermaid-like, awhile they bore her up: / Which time she chanted snatches of old tunes; / As one incapable of her own distress, / Or like a creature native and indued / Unto that element: but long it could not be / Till that her garments, heavy with their drink, / Pull’d the poor wretch from her melodious lay / To muddy death…”
the ever-present within all things…;) i hope you like this. /
This deep grown longing / That lingers in the shadows / Whispering the need / To lie with you at nightfall / To wake with you tomorrow Sha…
I write this for myself and for the love I may never know and for all those who have lived or are living through long distance or with unrequited love. xx
What was elegance to a snail’s victory? It was joy, joy, joy.. The report found. For no precise nor eloquent words Not even lit…
All thoughout last night and this morning I felt so blessed. I was not thinking of the show so much as what each and every experience I had had that has brought me to this place. As soon as I own my life I feel a wave of relief and the desires I am ready to receive do show up in all manner of joy and abundance. One and a half years ago I was just getting out of bed and allowing a great bout of depression to consume me and my hopes and dreams.. / Every morning without fail for only One to Two Minutes out of my day I would lay in bed and say to myself with a huge wave of belief so grand and fine that I felt the power of Love and happiness swell up inside me as I said: “Today might be the day That I find Myself” Then I would get up out of bed and most likely not shower and go to the couch out in the living room, sit with a channel changer in my hand and watch television all day. / . / Then, as so many of you who have known me for awhile knows, I went to my computer one morning after my mantra and I hooked into this site and to YOU. / . / Healing after Healing after ….. on and on.. what hit me was Love. IT was then I began to work a photoshop program for 10 hours a day (instead of television, I now do not own one) for a year at least… I remember not wanting to leave my home, as I did not want to socialize nor see anyone. I worked to pay my rent minimal (as I hated to leave the house) and stayed inside and learned my craft and spent time with you. / . / There is more to write on this but the profound appreciation I have for RB and my fellows swelled up inside me today early this morning as I was cleaning up after the festivities. / . / Thank You. / I Love You. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. / [From Mat 3:16-17 KJV] I thought I’d experiment with several layers and the wording which I wanted to impress the image below the dove. The dove isn’t actually a dove at all but a seagull, LOL I haven’t anymore dove shots since I lost a lot when my computer had to be formatted and everything reinstalled. The actual idea came to me during a shower, as one would know the mind is forever active, all I saw in my vision was a dove coming through what appeared as a door, dark and gloomy, the dove slowly began to radiate, I didn’t want the dove in this image to actually radiate, as I wanted the initial vision to manifest in my work..
