Enjoy!
This aerial photo shows the landscape looking South along the coast over Long Reef Point and the golf course.
The common yarrow and grass seed heads may be weeds but they are every bit as beautiful as any bona fide garden plant. / /
Interrupted from her lunch, this lovely lady with her yellow knees and hairy thighs is a beautiful female specimen of Nephila plumipes (Coastal Orb Spider), a native to Australia. This Arachnid portrait was photographed along a rainforest track at Diamond Head, part of the Crowdy Bay National Park, about a one hour drive south of Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia, on a hot and humid summer day. I took this at the Virginia Safari Park. There is a pretty large fenced in section for them away from the free roaming animals. A tall walkway with a covered top allowed people to get up to their level and feed them. (Special Food Only that you could buy for them there.) It looked like way off in the back there was a gate to yet another large area for them. I hope so. I love the Giraffe. / FEATURED IN GIRAFFE’S – THE LONG AND TALL OF IT / TOP 10 PLACEMENT – IN THE WILD (II) CHALLENGE – IN THE GIRAFFE’S – THE LONG AND TALL OF IT /

Ah, the triumphant return of My Tori Stories. This one is pretty simple. No special effects or anything. It kind of reflects how I’m feeling at the moment. “In my head I found you there / And running around and following me / But you don’t, oh, dare, now / But I find that I have, now / More then I ever wanted to So maybe Thomas Jefferson wasn’t born / In your backyard / Like you have said and / Maybe I’m just the horizon you run to when / She had left you there, you, / All here in my head and / Running around and calling me / Come back / I’ll show you the roses and brush off the snow / And open their petals again and again / And you know that apple green ice cream / Can melt in your hands / I can’t so…” Here. Sometimes, you can see the illness in my eyes and this was one of the most telling gigs I’ve had photographed. Cathy just opened herself up to the gig and the fact that’s she’s now a DSLR shooter. She didn’t get fixated on me or any single musician. She shot hands, instruments, feelings, non-verbal communications, and much more. She also learned about just how crappy a lighting situation can be for even an experienced photographer. Full sunlight thru “festive” colours is just plain nasty to deal with. If either of us had filters to counteract the extreme white imbalance we could an screwed them on and tried to deal with cooling off the hue. Also, neither of us are experienced at shooting RAW so the editing process is all but useless filtering so much imbalance. I almost tried to create an entire new palette and use it as a template for all the edits I worked on for Cathy but even that wasn’t gonna work. Anyway, this is looking into the eyes of a deeply depressed musician, playing my instinct alone, lacking all passion and interaction with the audience. I was told I played very well because I took no chances and because I took no chances I played stunted. Oh well, at least the event was well documented and I appreciate the efforts Cathy put into shooting this gig. The series, completely shot by Cathy, is for sale so she will get some sales she never feels she deserves.

Bay Head Beach, New Jersey still feeling the force of the NorEaster, November 14, 2009. / Nikon D80 W/24-120mm VR At one of my favorite jetties, that I love hanging out at, and have quite a few images of it in my gallery. I was able to have beach access here, unlike at Mantoloking Beach. What a different perspective getting at eye level with the waves. I had to keep checking to make sure I was far enough away. Didnt want to get my camera wet! :)
