  • Mother nature presented me on a last October evening with one of those sunsets that you can hope to see just once a year if you’re lucky. / High layers of scattered clouds, a pure, clean atmosphere and the fact that at the end of october the twilight lasts almost a hour, all this elements contributed in producing a stunning natural show. • As sure as the sun rises each morning, so it is with God’s Great Faithfulness to watch over, protect and provide for each of us, His children. The dawning of a perfect Autumn day as the sun creeps up through the mist that has settled over Thompson’s Creek, on the historic Charlemont sheep station. Lamentations 3:22-24 (New International Version) / New International Version (NIV) 22 Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, / for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; / great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; / therefore I will wait for him. The words to the wonderful old hymn penned back in 1923, still stand testament today! Refrain Great is Thy faithfulness! / Great is Thy faithfulness! / Morning by morning new mercies I see. / All I have needed Thy hand hath provided; / Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me! Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, / Sun, moon and stars in their courses above / Join with all nature in manifold witness / To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. • What a sight this was, the sky was burning orange! I love how the city looks so small compared to that enormous storm cloud… this was taken at ascot, looking over Brisbane 17.05.08 at 4:55 pm just as the sun was setting… This storm was incredible to watch, until i had to run back to the car because the wind was going to pick me and my camera up + within minutes the city wasn’t visible anymore…

  • These autumn colours and reflections were taken at Oakbank, Adelaide Hills, South Australia, Australia, in autumn (obviously). I used a Canon DSLR EOS 350D on a tripod. This is an HDR shot. I used 3 shots merged together with Photomatix Pro. This was details enhanced.

  • another picture of my favorite tree.

  • This is for the HDIR group challenge. The original image is infrared. Taken on my old FujiFilm FinePix with an R72 filter attached. I used Topaz Adjust to get the HDR effect on the leaves of the tree. The challenge stipulates a reflection….so I made one ..(I hope) by inverting the original image and adding some motion blur and altering the perspective. Then I added a layer of texture ..I felt it just needed something else to finish it off. Oh, and the title comes from a band called “LIVE” from their CD “Mental Jewelry” It’s playing at the moment on my computer and I thought it was appropriate.

  • Misty haunting morning this morning, sitting in a pine plantation at Mt Burr in the Limestone Coast area of South Australia. Last hints of fog lifting as the sun rose towards a clear blue sky. Canon 400D 18-55 lens with ND4 filter. Three shot HDR converted in Photomatix and cropped to size. Damn it was cold!!!!!!!!!!

  • Out early this morning to watch the sun rise through the fog in a pine plantation at Mt Burr – Limestone Coast South Australia. Certainly worth the cold to see the beauty as the sun tried to force its way into the forest. Canon 400D 18 – 55 with ND4 filter. Processed in Photoshop CS3.

  • Suisinish is an abandoned village reached after a rough hour- long walk from Kilbride, near Torrin, Isle of Skye. / This old cottage is too modern to have been one of the dwellings where the folk were evicted to make way for the sheep, which were more profitable to the greedy landowners of the time. Many of the families were separated, and forced to emigrate to America, Canada, and Australia. / I cannot begin to feel their anguish. / There are many ruins scattered around the Brae (hillside), evidence of a thriving, close-knit community torn apart by human greed. Maybe this bulding was built early in the twentieth century, I have no idea and can find no information. / Back to the present….. / There was quite a wait for some usable light, a chilly fierce wind was blowing, rain was brewing, nothing new ! We sat in the shelter of one of those deserted ruins, eating a cheese piece, ( sandwich ) and a cheering cup of hot coffee from the thermos, reflecting on how ‘they’ lived then, compared to us nowadays, and watching the sheep that are now the only inhabitants of this beautiful place. / Rowan trees were planted in the belief they kept evil spirits away, and it is considered very bad luck to cut one down, even today ! This cottage is surrounded by them, I guess the magic didn’t work. A three shot HDR. CanonEOS 40D mounted on tripod, iso 100, auto wb, f22, RAW files converted in Photomatix, and touched up in Adobe CS3. / A little Orton also applied to ‘pop’ the texture of the stone. / A slight vignette added.
