BETTER VIEWED LARGER This shot was taken from the Point of Blues Point on the north shore of Sydney Harbour at sunset. It is the result of 5 bracketted exposures , using my Nikon D300. No filters were used and the red clouds are the natural result of a sunset and the dynamic range of the HDR process. Lens used is a Sigma 10-20mm Blues Point can be reached conveniently via ferry from the Sydney CBD and offers panoramic views of the Sydney skyline and of course the Sydney Opera House and Bridge.
The only way around the village of Nimborio, the only settlement on Halki, is by negotiating the alleyways. There are a great number of abandoned houses in the village, these are slowly being rebuilt and turned into tourist appartments and villas. Halki is a small yet very charming island in the Dodecanese that is situated opposite the west coast of Rhodes. Three bracketed JPGs converted to HDR in Photomatix. BEST VIEWED LARGER Related shots can be found at Halki or Greece or Eastern Meditteranean.
An incoming tide at the beach at Cathedral Rock on The Great Ocean Road , site of the original Memorial Arch, just North of Lorne. Taken about twenty minutes after sunrise. A great spot for surfing, especially on a low tide with a moderate to heavy swell. Pentax istDS Camera – Three images bracketed together to create an HDR image. / /

If I could offer one single piece of photography advice, it would be – “Take far more shots than you need. Make sure its ‘in the can’, instead of wishing you’d done things differently.” Looking back through my folders I found some ‘handy looking’ Infrared exposures I’d made of the cooling towers at Thorpe Marsh last summer… Lightly HDR’d to lose some of the flare and finished, without too much fuss, using a subtle blue tone.
