Just laying on the floor in the old farm house was this beautiful old Singer sewing machine, pretty much all intact, even still had its foot pedal control and a plug!, i had to stand it up to take a couple of shots, if i wasnt such an honest person i could quite easily have taken this home and restored it!

A 3 shot HDR processed in Photomatix Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell of the clock at the north-eastern end of the Palace of Westminster in London,[1] and is often extended to refer to the clock or the clock tower as well.[2] Big Ben is the largest four-faced chiming clock and the third-tallest free-standing clock tower in the world.[3] It celebrated its 150th anniversary in May 2009 (the clock itself first ticking on 31st May),[4] during which celebratory events took place
A 3 Shot HDR processed in Photomatix During 2009 Parliament celebrates the 150th anniversary of its world famous Clock Tower, Great Clock and Great Bell. The name Big Ben is often used to describe the tower, the clock and the bell but the name was first given to the Great Bell. 1859 was the beginning for all three elements when the Clock Tower was completed, the Great Clock started on 31 May and the Great Bell’s chimes were heard for the first time on 11 July.

Beechworth is Australia’s best preserved gold town. All four members of the Kelly Gang spent some time in Beechworth Gaol, Ned for a total of two years. Ned appeared in the Beechworth Courthouse on August 6 1880 on a charge of murder. He was committed to stand trial here before returning to Melbourne for his Supreme Court trial and subsequent hanging. Ned’s mother Ellen also appeared in the Beechworth Court, in 1878, and was held in the Beechworth Gaol for a short time before being taken to Melbourne to complete her sentence. The Courthouse is just one of a number of remarkable 19th century buildings making up the Beechworth Historic and Cultural Precinct, which provides a fascinating insight into life during the gold rush and Ned Kelly era. Whilst visiting our lovely friends at their home in Painswick, Gloucestershire, in England, we enjoyed their hospitality and were given this beautiful room with all the rural charm that you can only experience in an old cottage. Our friend asked if I could take photos of these rooms as they were soon going to move and wanted reminders of the old house. I decided to start in this room and have decided to put up a couple of the shots taken here in my portfolio. I took this one using the mirror to capture the reflection to give a bit more depth to the image. This mirror is so beautiful and I want to engage with it more. This is a HDR image combining 7 bracketed shots using Photomatix Pro for Macs. Slight adjustments in lighting and tone were done using the enhanced details tool. I also decided to pull down the saturation a bit to give it a more antique feel. Canon EOS-1Ds Mark ll / 28-300mm IS zoom lens / f/7.1 / 1/200, 1/80, 1/50, 1/30, 1/20, 1/13, 1/8 / ISO 400
During a recent visit to our lovely friends home in Painswick, Gloucestershire, in England, I was asked to photograph some of the rooms for our friends as they were preparing to move back to the States after nearly 5 years here. We enjoyed so much our stays with them and will miss it greatly. I love this old cottage in which they lived. This shot is of their daughters room who is now away at a college in West Texas. Our little girl stayed in this lovely room and was intrigued with the collection of books and of course the shoes. My daughter loves ballet and enjoyed the pair hanging on the wall, as well as the glittering ruby shoes sitting comfortably on the dresser. I thought this to be a lovely image which shows the collection of memories and treasures that their daughter has collected over the years. “Time moves on, one tick at a time. The memories these shelve hold tells this story of mine. Journeys I have taken and moments I have shared, give my life direction for the storms left to fare. I hold these treasured thoughts tightly close to my heart, as I venture in this world with new chapters to start.” This is a HDR image combining 6 bracketed shots using Photomatix Pro for Macs.
