hazy sunrise above an undercast
The sun setting over a little harbour in Alikanas, Zakynthos, Greece
This was taken at the coast at the end of our summer, heading into fall. A very lazy and quiet day, with nothing but the sounds of the ocean and seagulls.
Another infrared shot, hope you like it!
Taken in the afternoon haze as clouds roll over the mainland from the Southern Ocean, looking toward the Eastern members of the twelve apostles.
This is a row of willows that is not more than a 100 mt. far from my house, in the country side near to Scalenghe in Piedmont, Italy. / I took this on a very early morning last november, 30 minutes after sunrise, while a thick fog was coming around, quickly obscuring the entire scene in just five minutes. Hope you enjoy it, thanks for viewing. Paolo
As a landscape photographer I am always in search of new interesting spots to depict. That’s why I travel a lot, when I can. However, I do believe that photography belongs more to how you see, than to what you see. With this in mind, I try to take advantage of any opportunity nature present me with, and I often realize that I don’t really need to travel a lot… This meadow is right outside my yard gate. I took this picture on last October, on a fresh early morning at sunrise, while some mist in the distance was spreading the dawn light tinging the sky with beautiful warm tones. Hope you enjoy this picture, thanks for dropping by. / Paolo

I DON’T KNOW IF THIS STORY IS TRUE OR NOT, BUT THIS IS THE WAY I HEARD IT, SO IT’S THE WAY I’LL TELL IT TO YOU. RIGHT AROUND THE TURN OF THE 20th CENTURY A VERY WEALTHY MIDDLE-AGE MAN NAMED SQUIRES MARRIED A BEAUTIFUL YOUNG WOMAN HALF HIS AGE. / HE WAS COMPLETELY, DESPERATELY, HEAD-OVER-HEELS IN LOVE WITH HER AND SAID THAT SHE SHOULD BE LIVING IN A CASTLE, SO HE WAS GOING TO BUILD HER ONE AN A HUGE PIECE OF LAND THAT HE OWNED IN THE CHAGRIN RIVER VALLEY EAST OF CLEVELAND, OHIO. / SOON AFTER THE COACH HOUSE WAS COMPLETED, AND BEFORE CONSTRUCTION BEGAN ON THE CASTLE ON THE HILL BEHIND IT, SHE BECAME VERY ILL AND DIED. / MR. SQUIRES WAS HEARTBROKEN AND NEVER BUILT THE CASTLE. THE LAND WAS EVENTUALLY DONATED TO THE NORTH CHAGRIN RESERVATION, AND IS ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR PLACES IN THE CLEVELAND METROPRKS SYSTEM, AND ALTHOUGH IT’S ACTUALLY JUST THE COACH HOUSE, IT’S CALLED SQUIRES’ CASTLE. As you love my lightbeams, I did search for them again this morning. With the morning haze which we tend to get in this season, there will be more chances to go out and chase them. But this morning I was already reasonably content. I hope you are too … Near Lage Vuursche, 18th September 2008, 9,43 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 29 mm / F 4,5, 1/30, ISO 400
Another shot from the old box, as I have taken no new pictures since 19th November. Fortunately there are quite a few shots still worth showing to you in that box. This shot was again taken in the forests near Hilversum in early October when the trees were still green and a lovely haze gave a mysterious touch to the world. Having started in the blue light of the early morning two days ago, I continued my tour through the hazy forest for nearly three hours, taking lots of pictures. Quite a few are gallery-worthy, and so here is another one, this time showing a lovely country-road near Laage Vuursche.
