The Sydney Royal Easter show is a chance for the country to come to town and show the city people what country life is all about. Different competitions, events and showcases are run during the show. Here we have a little piglet taking timeout from the fast pace of the show….amazing that he can sleep as thousands of people try and squeeze through to get a glimpse of all the different animals…. Photo Taken: 11-Apr-2006 / Time: 12pm / Conditions: Hall, luckily this little fella was right next to a huge wide door with naural light coming in.

I don’t usually do IR shots with people or animals, but this horse was kind enough to stay still for me for 2 seconds. ......................................................................................................... Bored in a stable with nothing to do. / We make a game of throwing our shoes. / Lead me to water, but not to the track. / Show me a saddle and I’ll say, “Hey get off my back.” / All in favor (all in favor) say “Nay!” / We like the flavor of (we like the flavor of) hay. / We’re gonna graze all of our days. / Until they take us away and turn us into glue. / Like Mr. Ed always said… May the horse be with you. I started writing short verses for a series of paintings: “Eighteen Images in Search of a Poet” by Lorenzo Castello. / If you haven’t seen the Tanka verses, also written for this series by Jane Solomon, they are well worth a read, as are a number of other lovely poems by various artists which you’ll find as comments on the images. / I decided to join my verses together as one long and semi-cohesive poem, the meter is not consistent because I wrote a number of these as stand alone verses and had already posted them as comments. I have tried to tie them in and I think it works after a few reads to get the rhythm sorted. I have also recorded it right here I’d like to thank Lorenzo for the inspiration and for permission to include his wonderful images here.
