  • I HAVE BECOME DEATH DESTROYER OF WORLDS / OIL ON STRETCHED CANVAS / $900 US (14” X 18” ORIGINAL) / SIGNED DEDICATED PRINTS AVAILABLE In the eleventh chapter of the Bhagavad Gita Krishna displays for Arjuna a terrible ferocity. “I have become death, destroyer of worlds”. These words were uttered by J. Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb, when first he laid his gaze upon what he had help create. I pray that the better angels of men have laid to rest this atomic Genie. We, as a species, are the only species that can truly alter life on this planet. Our prowess gives us much hope and expectations that we use wisely the gift of reason and intellect. But vigilance must be our guidepost. Never allowing a wayward few to pirate these hopes and aspirations. We cannot afford to dismantle in the fireball flash of a moment all the past good deeds of humanity. As an artist I have very little influence on the world. Except that I do have my paints, my brushes and my canvasses to do with what I want. I reflect on the artists that have gone before me and their influence on the world. Goya’s, “The Third of May 1808” or Picasso’s “Guernica” come to mind. It sometimes falls upon the shoulders of artists to comment and to illustrate what message they have received from their Muse. I am reminded of Virgil’s “Aeneid” where he speaks “O, Muse! The cause and the crimes relate; What goddess was provoked, and whence her hate”. So, I am not alone. Why paint scenes such as these? I wish not. I prefer light, magical and visionary themes but when the Muse demands that I paint such omens I must pay my debt to Her. It is Her fee that she demands payment of from me, if I wish to continue being an artist. visionary imagist “Joey”

  • There are some of us, who took it upon ourselves to do things for others. to help others.. to make others happy.. but we forgot about ourselves! we forgot that we need to make ourselves happy too. we need to love ourselves too. if we don’t love ourselves, who’ll love us? i dedicate this to every one of you kind souls out there!! remember to always love yourself as well!! =D i especially thank Karin who kept reminding me that i am love-able as well. bad history and with the kind of people i’m surrounded by, i was made to believe that nobody will love me for everything that i am. am made to realise all my faults and bad points and weaknesses. made to believe am ugly and useless. having depression doesn’t help as i view myself as nothing more than a mental girl. i totally believe that it’s impossible for anyone to really love me. But Karin showed me otherwise. she made me answer and admit my pretty gd points.. and i realised.. hey!! i can be love-able?! am still trying to accept that now.. lolz.. it’s still kinda hard to accept, having been instilled those “i sux!” mindset for years… ahahahah.. XD Thank you, Karin!! • This shot was the main centre-spread of a feature I recently had published in Tokyo’s ‘Metropolis’ magazine. It has also featured recently in mags in Australia, Singapore and Poland. To beging with the guy hanging out of the window spotted me and then just wouldnt lean out again. I attached my camera to a 10ft monopod, put a cable-release on and held the camera out with an 11mm lens on it. He thought I had walked off and I still got exactly the angle I wanted….

  • A Little Redbubble trick I have started using.

I am sure that most of you have noticed that Redbubble does not allow us to have spaces between lines of text even when we insert those lines as we type our Bubblemails and in image descriptions. For instance – I placed a blank space between this sentence and the one above but if I post this to a Bubble mail that blank line will be removed. I have no idea why this happens but it takes away our ability to separate thoughts or paragraphs. / - / In frustration over having everything I write ending up being posted with no blank spaces where I want them to be I have started using the dash symbol: you know – dash, between the 0 and = on the top line of the keyboard. { :>) as I have done with this paragraph. One thing that does happen with this technique is that some times the dash doesn’t show and the body of text between the first dash and the second is printed in very pale lettering?? I have no reason why but this does happen. / I find that this lack of being able to place a blank space where I want to place it is especially frustrating when I add the properties text line for an image and end up with my title above the image or explanation below the image being right next to the image. / / Like this example / / One of our own images. / / As opposed to this example / / / / One of our own images. / / You can see here how a little space even with the dash looks much better when it is presented this way. At least in my opinion. { :>) / - / You can see the dash of course (because it is visible to you when you type) but if you look back up at the second example you will notice that the dash I placed above and below the image in this second example does not show!! You get the space without having the little – mark in this application. - So by using the – dash I can add emphasis to what I write and even though it is noticeable it is not distracting. . The same thing can be accomplished by using a period . however the dash seems to be something that is done on purpose where the . period seems more like a mistake in the typing to me. - - Just thought I would share this with you. Hope it is helpful! —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- New addition to this Journal! —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-- / Thanks to adgray I have just learned something new again!!! / ☺ ☻ ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ / *If you have the number keypad one the right side of your computer keyboard you can use that section of the keypad to insert symbols in your communications in Redbubble. / - / If you press the alt key on your computer keyboard – the one on either side of the space bar – and then hit one of the numbers on the number keypad you get the symbols shown above.
