  • October is a Memory Hammer
    by mstrace

There nothing in the air in October to slow down the pain that leaks from one person and into another. It transmutes like lightning. Flas…

My Father had and still has a profound influence on me. His story begins here And it continues here…made ALL THE MORE poignant for me when gifted photographer Mel Brackstone commented that she may have been channeling me while working on this photo, titled Melt Down and after looking at it I’ve gotta agree. If you read the entire story, of me and Dad, to the end…you may well agree too.

  • Hope
    by Spraven

She weeps over souls, / And war for peace, / Torn children,

This is the end of my drive by bubbling, I can’t stay away, so I will be starting religiously again tomorrow. So I leave tongiht with a poem on the lighter side. / She is hope, that little thing that stand by all our sides, but she is broken by the state of the world, all the war, pain and suffering and hopeless thoughts are hurting her, no-one wants the light, why is it that people only see the light when the die, is their something wrong? / She wants light to be here, not only in death, change our way’s is the message or we will have no hope. / Sounds dark, but really it light or the search for light…well it has got the word light in it…okay, I’ll try better, here it is anyway ; ) / Thanxz for your patience of my unlucky unfortunate events as of late, I really appreciate it, thanxz friends!!!

  • mariposa
    by Holly Ringland

Does he know you howl at quarter moons? Does he know you drew constellations in black ink on my skin?

the words… from mariposa i hope this piece is the beginning of something that i can go back to later… prompted by flash fiction’s latest challenge, that i interpreted as being full of desperation, needing to say something and only having an envelope and a splash of ink to get the words out.

  • Princess
    by Spraven

I meant to turn her away, / now I have nothing left to say, / how can I say I’m sorry, / or look her in the eye, / a touch would ask forgiven…

A message of no killing, starts with a man who as just killed his daughter boyfriend only protecting her from his violence, but in the process he losses his daughter….and the end is message that when we kill one we also kill the ones around and close to that person…..so don’t kill is the message….hope you enjoy this peace….

  • Love
    by Spraven

It’s okay I am a big boy, / I can take the fall, / Just hit a wall, / I wish it was real,

This is about a man who has thrown in the towel, and does not feel deserved of a love he will never have or feel, but feels like he has been a toy. I guess he doesn’t understand.

  • Mistake
    by Spraven

I don’t know why I punish myself, / Why I let you infect me, / Dissect me,

  • An Angels Wings
    by Spraven

Shake the rust from these worn eyes, / throw me down to the puddle outside, / tell me to leave and kick me some air,

When time is still ticking and warmth lays in the heart of sadness and hate this angel must right the wrongs of his past and earn his wings by helping another. It’s just been written, all that I put up in the bubble is new work, all old stuff stays in darkness, so I hope you like this, I had nothing else to right about ; )
