The green sky and white grass are the result of my first journey into the world of infrared. This was taken with a Hoya R72 filter screwed onto the front of my D40. The red and blue channels were swapped in photoshop to get rid of the red tint in the image. The subject of the image is one of the climbing rocks in Summerhill Country Park in Hartlepool.

My first attempt at HDR, this is from a single RAW that I used to created the exposures -2, -1, 0, +1 and +2. Haven’t had a chance yet to go out and take 3 or 5 separate exposures to make a proper HDR.
Another one of my Historic Quay shots, adapted to suit my tastes. They’re grainy and there’s no guarantee that they’re faultless, they were done for fun.
Taken at St Josephs Church in Hartlepool
Framed by a colorful sunset is the Trincomalee. Built in Bombay India in 1817, it was made out of teak, due to oak shortages in Britain as a result of shipbuilding drives during the Napoleonic Wars. The ship is part of the Maritime Experience, a visitor attraction in Hartlepool located in northeast England. The attraction is a recreation of an 18th century seaport.

One of the few PVC-clad lighthouse towers in the country, I believe. This one stands at the entrance to Hartlepool docks.
The Tees Barrage is a barrage across the River Tees just upriver of Blue House Point in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees in North East of England and is used to control the flow of the river, preventing flooding and the effects of tidal change. The Tees Barrage comprises a river barrage, road bridge, footbridge, barge lock, fish pass and white water course. The waters above the barrage are permanently held at the level of an average high tide and are used for watersports such as canoeing, jet skiing, dragonboat racing and incorporates a 1 km rowing course. The barrage is accessible by road only from Thornaby-on-Tees as there is very limited road access to the north bank of the Tees. The Tees Barrage and Teesside White Water Course are developments of the Teesside Development Corporation. From Wikipedia EOS 1D MkIII 17- 40mm (L) www.davidlewins.co.uk
