Harassment

Yep, says it all, especially in this day and age. It seems our rights and liberties are under attack….many photographers these days face stiff questioning from authorities whom have actually no right to do so, in asking us what it is we are photographing, for whom, and why we are. We are stopped, looked at, observed, harassed, detained, questioned, arrested, cited for laws which don’t exist, when all we want to do is capture something we see beautiful. All because many of us are thought to be terrorists….now you can show em exactly what ya think with this shirt!

Most gulls, particularly Larus species, are ground nesting carnivores, which will take live food or scavenge opportunistically. The live food often includes crabs and small fish. Apart from the kittiwakes, gulls are typically coastal or inland species, rarely venturing far out to sea. The large species take up to four years to attain full adult plumage, but two years is typical for small gulls. Gulls nest in large, densely packed, and noisy colonies. They lay two to three speckled eggs in nests composed of vegetation. The young are precocial, being born with dark mottled down, and mobile from birth. Gulls—the larger species in particular—are resourceful and highly intelligent birds, demonstrating complex methods of communication and a highly developed social structure; for example, many gull colonies display mobbing behaviour, attacking and harassing would-be predators and other intruders. In addition, certain species have exhibited tool use behaviour. Many species of gull have learned to coexist successfully with humans and have thrived in human habitats. Others rely on kleptoparasitism to get their food. The urban gull population in the United Kingdom has been growing quickly, probably due to laws such as the Clean Air Act 1956 which prohibited the burning of garbage by local landfill owners, thus increasing the availability of food for the gulls

Most raptors suffer from repeated harassment from crows, ravens, and in this case, – a magpie.

The crow, which has a nest nearby, is trying to get the bald eagle to move on. The bald eagle is not very happy about being harrassed and is announcing his displeasure strongly enough to attract me with my camera. I captured this image on Willow Creek, in Campbell River, British Columbia. Technical: Nikon D300 camera body, with 200-400 mm F/4 lens, on a monopod, 1/1000 sec. at f10.

A common sight everywhere in sub-Saharan Africa, the huge Marabou Stork is both a scavenger and a predator. This one is harassing a much smaller Yellow-Billed Stork in the South Luangwa River – Zambia.

OIL PAINTING / Image Copyright © 2008 JANE À PARIS TUNA FISH!!! This is just about relationships, the good and bad of them. Someone scratched this painting on purpose. I had to fix her. She was better the first time. It wasn’t very nice, and it is the kind subtle and not so subtle harassment I have to deal with all the time because of politics.

I have been forced to move out of my flats by my neighbours. They are lying, horrible people. I asked them to stop swearing and yelling outside my door. They were bullies telling me I had to get everything passed by them & real estate agents but they took over where I was going to put my veggie garden. Their visitors turned out my pot plant and they parked their work van so I couldn’t access my car port. They rallied the other neighbours against me and would give me insulting gestures in the street. When I wrote to the real estate agent with all my complaints they became more nasty, abusing me through my door. They complained to the landlord about my art work, my cats and that I had lied about their abuse. They got so agro they got the police in twice saying I had lied, they had twisted everything. It was so surreal and bizarre. The real estate agent said I couldn’t go to the owners because he agreed to the cats but not them. I got a comment from red bubble saying in was a class thing. They were definitely from the wrong side of the tracks. While all this was happening I was having lovely university student models coming to my flat to draw for red bubble Drawing Day. They made me feel calm even though their was conflict in the air. They were gentle and posed and liked my art work on red bubble. The images I called “escape” had a hidden message that I wwasn’t aware of at the time. I’ve only been here 6 months, the shortest rental I’ve ever had. I haven’t lived in a place for less than 2 years. I had no idea at the time that I would be the one escaping. That the hostile neighbours would be the ones I had to escape from. I thought the real estate agent would get rid of them not suggest I move. What a shock however I have thinking. People have been commenting on my fairy photographs and I have written a fairy poem. One of the intelligent models loved the happiness of the fairies in my photographs. I’m thinking why don’t I rent a house near the university and decorate it as a fairy house and invite renting students from the university who need to escape into a kinder, prettier world than the suburbs. Have a garden so I can play with my new camera and my house mates as fairies in the garden. I think this could be a wonderful idea and I have been interneting real estate agents tonight.

SLOW MURDER
by JaneAParis‘sixwordstory’
This is about political persecution and torture. Deliberate abuse equals slow death…this is just a reality…

This was taken at Cape Cross along the Skeleton Coast in Namibia. / There are about 100,000 Fur Seals here making it possibly the smelliest place on earth. The seals feed on the rich fish stocks created by the cold Benguela current and amongst the colony run Blackbacked Jackals and rare endangered Brown Hyenas. / The Jackals prey on weak seals, pups and placenta. They converge on potential prey but are usually seen off by the aggressive seal bulls – as seen here. / The jackals persist and usually get their meal but not always and can be injured in the process.

Good grief I’m fat! Well I’m not really fat, my stomach is just protruding outwards in a pear shaped fashion. Though I must say it does look pretty good on me. I’m having a baby girl; Brooklyn Jayda-Marie Johnson! I couldn’t be happier either. I’ve had this name picked out for 2 years waiting for her. I kept loosing them early on in my pregnancies. But all is well now, I am healthy, my baby is healthy & I’m so excited I swear I could piss myself ‘thinks’ speaking of which that could very well happen if I laugh in the next 30 seconds. I was shopping today, In the middle of my boring adventures in the grocery store I got the craziest heartburn! ‘gasps & changes voice to make story interesting’ So bad I left a cart full of groceries in the middle of the isle & walked out of the store da da da… As you can see my day to day life really isn’t all that interesting. I don’t get out all that much anymore. I get the weirdest looks from people when I do. I’ve had 8 people come up to me in the last month & touch my belly. People I don’t even know! just randomly walk up & grab a hold? Instead of shaking my hand they dive right for the belly! This scares the crap out of me. If you have been harassed or are a victim of Cyberbullying please contact me anytime if you need someone to talk to!. I am now a member of an online help center for Victims. Remember, it is a crime!
