A few different events within the past few months have inspired this work, as well as the Columbine shootings (which I refer to in lines 6 & 7). Written on April 20th, 2008 in dedication to those whose lives were taken by the shooters. My prayers and heart goes out to the families involved.
Always asking, never ceasing to compare, / We compare ourselves to those around us, / Revealing only what we want them to see.
