I titled this a Happy Day because we sing a song in our family by this name. The image reminds me of the words to the song. Basically the idea is that we thank God for the beautiful day and the weather. When I photographed this flower I felt so much in awe of God’s creation and the opportunity that he has given me to capture his artwork.

This intimate, bright yet dark, static yet flowing, autumn themed image was made in Baxter State Park, Maine, USA in October 2006. I like the contrast of the flowing water beneath the still branches, the pop of color from the remaining birch leaves, and the juxtaposition of the branch atop the stream in tone and color! /

BEST VIEWED LARGER / HAPPY HALLOWEEN / Caught this at the Sydney Group Meet – Eerie Is’nt it ? The doors of the St Michael the Archangel Chapel (commenced in 1886) . Rookwood Necropolis, at 283 hectares (700 acres), is one of the largest burial grounds in the world and one of Australia’s oldest cemeteries. It has been in continual use since it was established in 1868 and over 800,000 people have been interred within the grounds. The headstones and monuments reflect the history of the colony Of New South Wales and the development of the city of Sydney. The heritage values of the cemetery are protected by an act of Parliament. / / The original 81 hectare (200 acre) heritage area, located in the north western corner of the Necropolis, is subject to a Permanent Conservation Order and represents the largest and one of the finest surviving examples of a Victorian public cemetery anywhere in the world. Rookwood was originally designed in the grand gardenesque style, fashionable in the mid to late 19th Century. The brick gutters which defined the ornate landscaping can still be seen, together with the highly decorative monuments and other features including the chapel of St Michael the Archangel and the Serpentine Canal with its elegant ponds, bridges and urns. These were set in formal gardens with rest houses to cater for mourners and visitors This shot was the result of a Sydney group meetup on Saturday 14th June, the site definitely has a feel to it. Ive never seen so many black crows . The site definitely has an atmosphere with graves dating back to the early days of the colony.. In its day there was a rail service with a special funeral train that left from a purpose built station at Sydney’s Central Railway station. I shot this image on Septmebr 14th this year, 2008 at 10:30 AM…...the place: Clear Creek at French Gulch about 10 Miles West of Redding, CA….....there are some heavenly little hide-aways on this lovely little creek…........the trick is getting there early and catching the beautiful morning light….....I shot over 200 images on this day and it has been difficult deciding which ones to upload, but this one was the number one on my list; I hope you enjoy seeing part of My World! / / ___ / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission. With a mouthfull of sea leaves, this happy dugong swims around while chewing on the meal. With more and more marine craft on the waters and hunting for meat and oil, these are becomming vulnerable to extinction. Dugongs are large marine mammals, also known in come countries as “sea cow”, “sea pig”, “Manatees” and “sea camel”. Canon 50D, 120mm. Sydney Aquarium, Darling Harbour.

I edited my original illustration of Carnival Skull to enter the ‘Happy’ challenge. / So I guess this is a self portrait if I were a heavily tattooed sugar skull! / If this represented my happiness on a scale from 1-10, it would have to be a 10..extremely jolly!
