Mr.Roland died two days after I took that picture,he was a realy good friend and I use to tease him a lot.He was blind but always recognised me because he knew my voice«Ah!....« Gigi de St-Hippolyte»he used to say , holding my hand.He never asked for much only to organised his meal in a way he could easily eat by himself and to give him his chaplet for the ceremony on sundays.A great person , very generous and smiling all the time. The worst part for him was not being able to go to the bathroom ,I think that idea killed him ,he was so proud. He died very peacefully with her daughter and son ,hand in hand .The hand you see in the picture is his son’s .Let’s say that if I wasn’t passionnate about my job I couldn’t do it . / /
I don’t know that man.He doesn’t talk ,walk ,hear, see…he ’s closed to the world. His wife comes every day, she’s younger than him and I can see a lot of affection in her eyes but everybody knows she has somebody else in her life. She puts a little hat on his head ,cover him with something warm and bring him to the balcony, even if it’s cold outside. One day,at the beginning of my shift,I went to get him for super ,the hat was covering his eyes and since he couldn’t move,he looked like a Mexican taking a nap …I smiled but at the same time I couldn’t help myself thinking how much he must be raging inside cut from the world like this …in fact I WAS RAGING inside for being so helpless toward that man. / posted later …. / He died a few weeks after I took this shot, both hands never openned….....Gigi
My dear Agathe,so precious ,when she wants something nothing can stop her. She’s a libra just like me and her sister’s name is Gisèle just like me…either.Agathe is very proud to remember my name all the time and she always wants a big hug from me but when she’s angry ,watch out..!She has the most gentel smile I’ve ever seen ….and when she has that smile , it means trouble. She’s always looking in her purse, afraid that somebody would steel something from her One day I wanted to take the purse away to change her and she told her family that I beat her up,like I told you ,very clever that lady.I don’t touch the purse anymore.I don’t have any choices that to love her ,she won’t let anyone get on her back and that’s a good thing…..but it’s very hard to please her.I think It’s a great chalenge….Gigi..
Something along the lines of how people sinking within work and just the general busyness of life often reach for caffeine to save themselves… Enjoy!

This man Pablo, brought me to his home in Taquile Island in the middle of lake Titikaka, He is a part of the “Aymara” a native ethnic group in the Andes and Altiplano regions of South America; about 2.3 million live in Bolivia, Peru, Northern Chile, and Northwestern Argentina. They lived in the region for many centuries before becoming a subject people of the Inca, and later of the Spanish in the 16th century. / The Aymara have existed in the Andes in what is now Bolivia (and, to a lesser extent, Peru) for over 2,000 years, according to some estimates. It is most likely that the Inca had a strong influence over the Aymara region for some time. Though conquered by the Inca, the Aymara retained some degree of autonomy under the empire. There were a number of ethnic groups which were later to be known Aymara by the Spanish. These were divided upon different chieftaincies. Upon arrival of the Spanish, all these groups were spread in what today is Bolivia. / Most present day Aymara-speakers live in the Lake Titicaca basin beginning in Lake Titicaca through Desaguadero River and into Lake Poopo (Oruro) also known as the Altiplano, and are concentrated south of the lake. The present urban center of the Aymara region is El Alto, a 750,000-person city near the Bolivian capital La Paz. / The native language of the Aymara is also named Aymara; in addition, many Aymara speak Spanish, which is the dominant language of the countries in which they live, as a second language. Took this photo in St Jame’s Park. THis kind old lady was feeding the ducks and all the other birds, I can’t help but notice that she has a serene look on her face and she has a pair of lovely hands, which I hope I have highlighted in this photo.
Having a bit of a play around with some old hand coloured photo’s. This disperate group of handcoloured images owe nothing to Adobe in any way shape or form. They were shot with an old SLR using B/W film…. ahh film…. and then processed and printed in a wet darkroom on to Iford multigrade satin paper. Then the photographs were tinted with Marshalls very fine transulent photo oil paints then scanned with my very nice HP H4050 Scanjet flatbed scanner. The day after I took this photo…. the tree got chopped down… and it was in full bloom…. the saddest thing I ever saw….. sigh…..
Another hand coloured photo from the vaults. This is a flatbed scan of a 10×8 inch photograph that has been printed with two negs just out of register. Then it was doused with various inks and food colourings and scratched and abused with a kitchen scourer before being splattered with gold paint. Tthe Yeh Yeh was burnt in to the surface of the print with a soldering iron….then it’s been allowed to mature for about twenty years before scanning and being uploaded here. Kept it’s colours pretty well I think …. there has been no photoshop work at all done to this… its straight from the scanner.

For some reason my little two year old girly girl, Mila, is passionate about snails… could be the influence of her older wiser brother, Hudson, I suppose. Anyway, after every rainstorm she goes out and ransacks the garden for snails, carrying them around in bunches, or filling plastic containers with hundreds of the slimy little buggers, leaving them oozing snail slime and overflowing behind bedroom doors or under the table, for me to step on later… Camera Model Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL / Shooting Date/Time 2009/10/14 01:57:44 PM / Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/60 / Av( Aperture Value ) 6.3 / ISO Speed 200
