I can’t remember exactly what I was thinking when I first decided to paint this, but I’ve always loved this photo. I just wanted to show the most ordinary of people entering Heaven in a really natural way.

18×24” oil painting on canvas and white charcoal. Year Zero/NIN inspired series, title is from the song Zero Sum on year 0 album. The Resistance Fighter and the Soldier. She has compassion and love for him but he is conditioned to be numbers (hence the barcode on his helmet). I think the world we are in has great capacity to make us less human, but love and empathy can transcend the boundaries that keep us apart. Eye adore Praying Mantises. Have a Strong Affinity for them; Life-Long. They Trust me. We have conversations! Yet, deep inside, Eye KNEW Eyed see one before Winter arrived; had a dream about a pregnant female 2 nights ago and now, here She is —Pregnant; obese with the Next Generation … Eye was FILLED with Joy when Eye came upon this ET Creature —felt like such a Gift! When Eye asked her openly where her Ohana (Hawai`ian: Family/Tribe) came from, she immediately thereafter lifted her foreleg and actually pointed the way! —Eye Got The Shot. Eye LOVE Her.

A 5 year old finally figures out the importance of a list for Santa. And even though she couldn’t read or spell this year, she spent hours copying words out of the wish book and writing them on paper and then cutting out pictures and gluing them to her list for Santa, carrying her list everywhere. Then she decided she had to many things on her list and she may not get the thing she really wanted so she pulled everything off the list of pictures except one thing, / A PINK CAMERA for kids. / She has it all planned out to take photos of bugs she collects next summer and put them “upline like mommy wif she gets it:) “ / Created with a Canon 40d / PSCS3 converted to bw and selectively tinted santas suit
