suicide is the name of the game don’t play it if you don’t understand the rules
This shot was taken in a small concrete hut, a hut as large as a small bedroom, a hut with four men and two children weaving together various peices of wicker furniture. This particular man, whose hand is the focus was working on a chair. Such intricate labor intensive work requiring such attention to make a piece so often taken for granted. This shot too was taken in Pakistan.
I’d finished my walk for the day In Derbyshire, near Ladybower resevoir. I sat under the bridge catching the sun and staring at the rocks under the water half asleep. A small patch of intensley glowing ripples catching the sunlight appeared . The dancing pattern looped around me like a fleet of unsettled birds racing. On the surface of a silky still stream. / / How could I capture this chance dance of sunlight? Trust your eyes, no tricks here. I took many shots of these glowing ripples out of delight and facination for it’s beauty. A most unexpected shot. The power of water and of sunlight with earth underneath combined into a hand The hand of Gaia.
Silly sign for people who are not sure….Great Ocean Road….
OK its another surreal train image from my little russian lomo…. the worlds most popular failed spy camera…... taken at Central station just as the train pulled up and the door was about to open….. this weird arm reaching for the handles and the nonsensical numbers make this look a bit like a scene from a so strange movie…...
I have been neglecting my B&W work for a while, but just had to shoot this for that purpose, albeit with a little SC in it. This is the handrail for the Turf Locks Pub at the beginning of the Exeter Ship Canal, near Exminster, Devon. I love all the grooves in it, worn away through years of wear and tear, and also shaped by the weather. I wonder how many people have had their hand on this ? / What stories would it tell if it could talk ? Thank you for looking. / Hope you like it. One of the most expressive parts of the human anatomy – this calendar combines several series of fine art photography images of ‘a hand…’, and a varied expression of the feelings and emotions able to be conveyed by ‘Just… A Hand’. If you prefer a variation of the combination of images, please feel free to bmail me and I will format a calendar to your personal requirements.
