3d art render of two hammerhead sharks. Made with Bryce 3d.
Cold cast bronze Great Hammerhead sculpture. / Weighs approx 2.5kgs and measures 50cms in length. This is cast in two pieces, the rock is cast separately. I sculpt the original shark using a block of dental plaster and fill in using car body filler. A lot of sanding goes on until I am happy with the result. I make a two piece mould from latex which because of the size of the sculpture needs support so I then make a fibreglass outer support shell. This is done using strips of fibreglass matting coated with resin and applied in layers over the latex mould. / I then mix resin, bronze powder, iron powder and pour into the mould. This is left to cure for a few days. / The mould is opened and I start to work on the sculpture, firstly sanding away any registration lines, then I wire wool the whole sculpture to bring through the bronze. After this a layer of polish is added and a suede backing added to the base. The mould is then available for further casts. I sell my sharks worldwide, and most people do know me as the ‘Shark Lady’!! :) If you are interested in any information or wish to purchase one of my sculptures please send me a bubblemail.
Hammerhead motif, represents strength, power and mana. Qualities of a great warrior.

a collage of designs; how many can you find?
One of the most impressive animals is the Scalloped Hammerhead Shark (Sphyrna lewini). Specially the Hammerhead is unique in fauna and works like a radar system. During the shark swims close above sea bottom he detects any magnetic field of prey animals in the sand. The organ with this function is located at the underside and you will see the small dark spots with name Ampullae of Lorenzini.
