  • Original is Acrylic painting on Canvas. for all hallows eve… The carved pumpkin, lit by a candle inside, is one of Halloween’s most prominent symbols. / These lanterns are usually carved from a turnip or swede (or more uncommonly a mangelwurzel). / The jack-o’-lantern can be traced back to the Irish legend of Stingy Jack, a greedy, gambling, hard-drinking old farmer. / He tricked the devil into climbing a tree and trapped him by carving a cross into the tree trunk. / In revenge, the devil placed a curse on Jack, condemning him to forever wander the earth at night. This story has been passed down through generations of Irish families. / The carving of pumpkins is associated with Halloween in North America, where pumpkins were readily available and much larger, making them easier to carve than turnips. Many families that celebrate Halloween carve a pumpkin into a frightening or comical face and place it on their home’s doorstep after dark. In America the tradition of carving pumpkins is known to have preceded the Great Famine period of Irish immigration. / The tradition of carving vegetable lanterns may have been brought over by the Scottish or English—documentation is unavailable to establish when or by whom. The carved pumpkin was originally associated with harvest time in general in America and did not become specifically associated with Halloween until the mid-to-late 19th century. / -From Wikipedia / Halloween like jack O’ Lanterns but less cheeky? / check out Jacks Hallowe’en fire / also available on tshirts/tops / thankyou for taking the time to view my art and (hopefully) comment… / please have a look at my other artwork… / hope you enjoy! :) Click on any category above for that genre… or / Click here to go back to my profile page ... thanx :)

I woke up one morning and came out into the kitchen just after I had finished this work and the rainbow was spot on the stone of destiny! It was goosepimple stuff, I tell you! The spirits walked my house that morning! These big powerful mandalas are connections… connections with spirit, connections with others, connections with myself. My ancient celtic ancestry is in full bloom… ALL RIGHTS RESERVED! Please DO NOT COPY this picture. It is protected in more ways than one… Cheers:) Marg

  • upload from my 2009 calendar Celtic Dreams

  • This started out as an entry for a Halloween competition – but the theme was ‘Horror’ and this turned out to be quite the opposite I think! The Witch and her Black Cat are off to ‘who knows where’ on the night of All Hallows … Her feline companion is obviously a novice to the art of broomstick riding – so she turns to lend a steadying hand to her familiar as they glide across the beautiful moonlit sky….. Model and Hair Brush – with thanks to Lockstock on Deviant Art / Broom and Hat Brushes – with thanks to Dollieflesh on Deviant Art / Everything else – taken from my own photos HAPPY HALLOWEEN in advance to all ! x

Something calling, beckoning you on, strange sounds emerging from the depths.Hold tight to the railings as you walk along the bridge, who is that at the end is it Angel or Daemon..is it a leap of faith I see before me?.... This wondrous poem by kind permission of sweetForestGirl “Through the dark to the light / of the Angel / on the other side … / Let the Spirit of the Forest / Be your Guardian / and your Guide … / Save us from the treacherous / the ones who seek / to see us fail and fall / Find the beauty and the truth / that is waiting / at the end…for us all”.... .?guess the title?..solved by blamo ..am feeling full of mystery & enchantment today, so thought we could have some fun lookin’ for a title eh? lol! view LARGE & here’s a wee story to find the clues… ...Spirit ...Save the Rainforests ..a first experimental digital creation using redfield fractalius superimposing fantasy art …inspired by the song .. ...
