  • The fall colours in Nova Scotia can be so beautiful. This picture was taken from a spot in West Pennant called Hospital Hill. Hospital Hill is a couple of miles back in the woods but well worth the hike! When you climb to the top of the hill the views are spectacular, ocean in one direction and hills in the other.

  • Whenever I’ve heard older couples interviewed, the older gentlemen have always said the reason their marriage has lasted so long is because they learned to say “Yes Dear.” I thought this would make a funny t-shirt. I also have this t-shirt available with black print on a lighter background and I have a certificate in print. I hope this makes you smile!

  • I didn’t see the 4 layers of waves when I snapped the picture but was quite enthralled with the image after I noticed it. This was taken at White Point Beach Lodge on the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

  • I am most proud of this shot so far in my short time doing photography. This image incorporates my passionate nature with my love of the ocean. I used to lobster fish with my Dad and so the ocean holds a lot of dear, and not so dear LOL, memories for me. I almost froze my hands off doing this. It was snowing a little while before I took this shot so you can imagine close to the water, with a breeze, how cold it was. However, in the name of love and romance, anything goes! LOL

  • Outhouse at Fisherman’s Cove, NS, Canada

  • Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada By: / Terri~Lynn

  • This picture was taken on March 8, 2008; a very rainy foggy day in Sambro, NS. This was fitting weather for a small fishing community remembering their five friends, neighbours and family members lost at sea 20 years ago. On March 8th, 1988 the fishing boat “Bonnie Lou II” was lost at sea and the five fisherman on board were never found. Had the men survived the storm the sight of this lighthouse, which stands at the entrance to Sambro, would have welcomed them home.

  • Re-work of an image removed previously. / Removed the darn tourist photographer who was in the shot, then darkened it a little. Hope you like it. Taken September 2007.

  • Just stating the truth! LOL If you would like this personalized or a colour change made then please let me know by bubble mail.

  • Went to Halifax for the first time on Saturday, i n the really old Market hall in the centre was this beautiful little flower stall, i had to get a shot of, hope you like it.

  • I realize there are lots and lots of terrific Mother-In-Laws out there; however, this tee is for those that don’t have … terrific ones…. LOL

  • This is a macro of the inside of a flower, but please don’t ask me which one because I have no idea what it was. LOL Scott said it looked like candy corn so the name was born. Candy corn for those of you that don’t know is a rocket ship shaped candy that is three different colours; red, yellow, and white I do believe. For those of you that may wonder, I did not manipulate this photo in any way other than to crop a bit off to get this to RB dimensions.

  • This year marks the 250th anniversary of the Sambro Island Lighthouse. Families, including cousins of mine used to live on the island all year round. There were two homes which are still standing, but barely. I believe the building you are seeing in this shot is where the families kept their supplies and storage. The island is said to be haunted by a man. I was quite disappointed to not have felt or seen something eerie while I was there. There is also a spot which looks to be carved out of the rocks on the island called the “Devil’s Footprints” The story goes that the devil walks up out of the water and walks up the rocks to the island. What the devil would want with a lighthouse I have no idea, but that is what I was told. The rock pattern is very odd though and quite something to see. The lighthouse is now run by solar panels and no human hands are needed. Even the fog horn is run by a machine that detects fog. Even though I did not see or feel a ghost, the island has a very lonely feel to it, an abandoned and sad spot. I couldn’t imagine being there alone….no, I just could not!

  • This was one of the most spectacular sunsets I have witnessed in a long time and Scott and I were lucky enough to be at Peggy’s Cove in Nova Scotia when it occurred. At first I was hoping these two love birds would get out of my shot but then I realized they added to it… I hope you enjoy it!

  • I love ships of all kinds, but especially sailing ships. This is the German barque “Gorch Fock” at the entrance to Halifax Harbour, Nova Scotia, during the Tall Ships Festival in July, 2007. Taken with a Sony DSCF828 camera. The ship is a training vessel for the German Navy and does extensive cruises worldwide. Ship of Dreams, featured / in “Nautical”, / in “Retired and Happy , 4 a Day Limit”. / in “The Addicted Photographer” and / in “Going Coastal (4 art per day)”

  • This is P/O Cyril Barton, VC. Halifax Bomber of 578 sqdn RAF. / He won the VC because he continued his flight to bomb Germany after some of his crew baled out after misunderstanding an order as they’d had been hit and lost an engine. He got to Germany, completed his bombing run and returned to England only to be shot at flying along the English coast and crashed landed just south of Sunderland at Ryhope,, avoiding houses. He didn’t survive but 3 of his crew did. The rest of his crew survived the war as POWs in Germany. His a/c name was “E” for Excalibur. / I think there is housing complex called Halifax Place in Ryhope and The Barton Room for young people in Ryhope Golf Club, which is built where the Halifax crashed. / / 4th Feb 09 / I’ve just read in tonight evening paper that the last remaining crew member, who lived locally and I’ve met, die from cancer last month about the time I decided to post this painting. I wonder what made me do that???? / This was painted to illustrate a book on P/O Barton but land up a raffle prize for the local (Sunderland) Bomber Command Association. / Acrylic on Daler Board. 20×24inches. 1994

  • The Halifax, Nova Scotia, Tall Ship Festival July 2009 was a spectacular event to attend. We had mixed weather, but ended up with two beautiful days for taking photos of the Tall Ships in Halifax Harbour. The four-masted bark, built in 1926 as the “Padua”, is the last vessel of its kind. Built as a cargo-carrying sailing ship, she was one of the Flying P-Liners, the sailing ships of the German F. Laeisz shipping company from Hamburg. The last Windjammer is still active today, although it has undergone a change in profession and turned training ship. Today the “Kruzenshtern” is the world’s second largest sailing ship – second only to another Russian ship, “Sedov” – and, without a doubt, the most famous ship in the contemporary Russian sailing fleet. • Figurehead of the HMS Bounty Tall Ship at the Halifax, Nova Scotia Tall Ship Festival, July 2009. The fog was incredibly thick when we first viewed the ships, followed by heavy rain off and on. The fog provides a bit of a mystic atmosphere. © 2009 Anne Hale. /
