Summer Breeze a beautiful poem by the same title by a dear friend of mine Anne Van Alkemade / / 4 sales of this design, thank you everyone! / Inspired by the song Summer Breeze / by Seals and Croft Also inspired by myself and my experience of having bugs and insects come to try and take up residence in my ears… scrabbling around in there, getting all comfy…while I’m going crazy…click beetles, houseflies and spiders so far have all tried this… lol This is a girl who has an affinity with nature, and as the summer breezes begin to blow here in Australia…....the animals are drawn to live in her hair thinking that it must be branches of a tree… yes, my hair’s that dry… :) I thought it a fitting one for summer, hope you like her… Pencil drawing took me about 3 hours / Digital colouring – 10 hours / Total time 13 hours

This is a re-edit of one of my original images on here. It is one of my favourites but looking back on the original edit I was not happy with it thus the redo. This is my daughter Abi. She was standing on a log at the beach and I called her name and as she looked up a gust of wind came and swept her hair up and I thought it was pretty cool. This is Abi four years ago so a bit different than we are used to seeing her lately but it is one of my favourite photos of her :) Featured in / Children – The Power of Raw Emotion / Vibration in Art and Verse – VAVoom! / Childhood / The Top Favorite Group Nikon D70s / Nikor 70-300mm / f/8 Vancouver Island, British Columbia 453 views / 46 favourites

Featured in Canon DSLR – June 09 – thank you so much!! Featured in The Woman Photographer – June 09 – thank you very much to the hosts! This portrait of Mila (2) was taken in the back garden. Her older sister, Perrin, ran around behind her holding a black cloth to act as a ‘backdrop’ for me. In true 2 year old style, she decided today was the day that she would NOT smile, and as for looking at the camera… you can forget it. Keeping still was also not an option. So this is the end result of a frustrating shoot, but maybe the more interesting for it. Canon 400D, natural light, pp in photoshop CS2.

Acryllic on canvas 16×24 Inch This work was for the Inaugural Art Exposing Eating Disorders Exhibition. An exhibition held at Sydney’s Mori Gallery with the aim of raising awareness & promoting positive body image through visual arts. / The use of butterflies is in part symbolic of the metamorphosis that transpires as one emerges from the “coocoon-like” existence of an eating disorder, the butterfly wings representing the freedom found in the ability to fly. The flowers, butterflies & dragonflies… some of natures most beautiful creations… represents the notion that true beauty inside & out is created by nature. All sales proceeds were donated to The Butterfly Foundation & 25% of any print sales will continue to be donated.
