This is the lobby as you walk into what was once an extraordinary townhouse. The mural is not of Che Guevarra, but the third of the partners with Castro, whose name escapes me at the moment. Why the car parked in the lobby…I don’t know. However, American cars from the fifties are a common site. People of Cuba can only work for the government with the exception of having dinners for sale in their own homes. After walking up two marble spiral staircases, we came to the entrance of our destination for dinner…found recommended in Cigar Affectioneomato Magazine. The little lobby we waited in had a chair nailed to the wall; we were told that The Queen of Spain had dinner there and they preserved the chair that she had used. The restaurant obviously exceeded the limits of the Cuban Government’s size restrictions and was very busy and happy place.
