  • Getting to know the stars is an important part of landscape photography. Using a compass and G.P.S I was able to pinpoint the South Celestial Star. Because of the rotation of the earth, using a six hour exposure gives the feeling of the stars trailing around this point. I used a 5 million candle power flashlight to illuminate the sand dune. Because of the massive size of the dune I had to climb an adjacent dune and paint the light on from there. Camera – Fuji Gx617 / Film – Fuji Velvia

  • This shot is from one of those mornings when you wake up and as you drive closer to the coastline you see the potential of what is about to follow. Not only was the sunrise sensational the light that followed after the sun breached the horizon was also perfect light to shoot with. All in all a fantastic morning of shooting. This one is shot on my Fuji GX617 with Velvia 50. site: www.mattlauder.com.au / blog: www.mattlauder.wordpress.com.

  • Captured on the Great Ocean Road just before the sun dipped below the horizon. Camera: Fuji GX617 / Film: Fuji Velvia

  • The warmth of the rising sun bathes the city of Sydney in gold and pink tones. Shots like this make landscape photography a joy. Especially when your standing on a look out armed with a panoramic landscape camera. Fuji GX617 | Velvia 50 slide site: www.mattlauder.com.au / blog: www.mattlauder.wordpress.com BEST VIEWED LARGE

  • Another shot taken when running my Blue Mountains Day Course in September this year (2008). Shot on my new GX617 with the 90mm lens. It is great when you get a new camera with a totally different field of view. You can re visit all of your favorite locations and capture totally different images and compositions. Taken in the late afternoon as the final warmth of the afternoon light bathes the sisters. Fuji GX617 | Velvia 50 site: www.mattlauder.com.au / blog: www.mattlauder.wordpress.com

  • Another shot from Spoon Bay. I really love the contrast of colours in this image. Taken on sunrise with my Fuji GX617 (90mm) lens on Velvia 50. All images are available for sale via my website. www,mattlauder.com.au / All images are copyrighted.

  • Hot off the press is a new shot of mine of a different look towards the Sydney Harbour Bridge on sunset. I purposely composed the shot to not show the base of the tree as I think it works well like this. Fuji GX617 | 90mm lens | 2 stop lee ND soft grad.
