This collection of Urban Landscapes is drawn from a larger body of work called Darkscapes. They are moody evocative invitations into mystery and imagination taken from the ordinary things that make up the fabric of city life. Beauty is all around us if only we take the time to notice it. We all look but maybe we don’t all see. This collection of images is a way for me to share what I see with others. These discarded flowers retain their loveliness even as they are swept away into the storm water drain. . /

Often my life feels like this – like a lively, bright red thread, flying through a vast, dirty and decaying world. Sometimes it zooms about as if on some frantic search, and other times it just floats wherever the wind carries it, but always there is the sense that I don’t belong. It’s almost like a horror film. Water turns to ice and creeps over the gutter to grip the sides, dangling to the ground below. Yet it displays a symetrical balance. Something else to think about.
Another day…another location with my chair… This is taken outside the “Fred Ash” building in Newcastle, Oz. More Chair photos can be seen here

well it’s Melbourne Cup day here in Oz and the whole country stops while the ponies thunder around a oval while the fabulous folk flutter about in fancy duds while quaffing large amounts of bubbly…. and meanwhile out on the mean streets all sorts of other interpretations of this event are revealed… like in this charming little bit of graffitti I spied on a gutter some where in one of the less salubrious parts of the shiny city…. go Boadacia you go girl….
Definately the best time to fish, the fish are hunting for dinner, and the fading light makes it harder for them to see you. the big fish have learnt over their life, to watch for the shadows on the shore. This guy was fishing in the deep gutter you see to the left of the shot, the incomming tide fills these gutters, and is a hot spot for fishing. The beautiful sunset just adds to the experience. Sunshine Beach, Noosa Heads, Queensland, Australia. Canon 5D Mk II, 35mm. Available large, and best viewed large!
