This white flowering Eucalypt caught my eye. It was actually in a carpark and our car was parked under it. I love how my interest in photography invokes me to notice these things that others walk on by. It allows me to see the beauty in the world around me.

The silence of the Australian bush was broken by a harsh crack and then a deafening crash, as this branch, once full of life, growth and vitality gave way to the the effects of the prolonged drought and the ravages of time and weather, and fell to the ground, unseen.

Fire is the key driver of ecological processes in the forests of south_eastern Australia . Most plants have abaptations for it trees like the Mountain ash and alpine ash are killed by fire .These trees have a hard woody nut (gum nut) that protects the seed from the heat . fire opens the nut and the seeds are then droped in to the ash of the old forest and grow fast in the rich bed of ash..
