This is my first proper attempt at a Vector portrait. It took quite a lot of patience and hundreds of layers overall, but like i say it is my first attempt so just let me know what you think. The subject i chose for this vector art is someone that i am a great fan of- / Dave Matthews (of the Dave Matthews Band). He is one of my favorite musicians so i knew that I would probably be able to spend a lot more time on it and finish it…and be less likely to throw my laptop across the room :)
FP4/Photoshop. / I was lucky enough to be in a band with this guy, he was like Flea out of the Chilli Peppers, boy, could he play!!!! Lost touch with him some years ago!!! / Tumblin, Dice 1989-94. Please note>I does not bother me how a person looks, colour, religion or nationality!!!! But it did with a Judge at a Photographic Society who said : I quote / “Here we go, these waste of space people” My reply can not be written!!!

Growing up in the 70’s with friends that were professional musicians was an amazing experience. / My friend Richard was more or less a self taught guitarist/vocalist and he seemed to excel at it. When we would hang out there was always one or two guitars around and Chrad ( Richards nick name) would have a new song he learned or something new to teach me. / It wasn’t until recently I realized my foundation for creating art came from those days when Richard and I were “Just sitin doing shit” Everyday in the studio is like every other day except for what I bring to it. The most I can expect is what happens and that’s usually better than yesterday. / 18×24 oil/pastel on canvas
