During a relatively peaceful 2002 protest against the World Bank in Washington, D.C., anti-war demonstrators began to change the situational climate of the march. Tensions between protesters and police, who were expecting a violent demonstration, began to rise. Police began to arrest everyone that they managed to surround inside Pershing Park, guilty, as well as innocent bystanders alike. In relative anticipation of the police’s reaction, this young man wrote the telephone numbers of civil defense lawyers on his arms before the demonstrations even began.

A little disturbing I would say. This was meant to go on the inside of the EP but the band went for a different image (too grisly perhaps?). The idea was to have “Innocent” on the cover looking all cute and … well innocent and then you open up the EP to find this very naughty girl. / Anyways that was the idea. / I’m not sure I got the whole reverse image down properly but I think the concept was still a winner.

Tensions between protesters and police, who were expecting a violent demonstration, started to rise. Police began to arrest everyone that they managed to surround inside Pershing Park, guilty, as well as innocent bystanders alike. These demonstrators were pulled from the crowd, handcuffed and thrown on an awaiting Metro bus. No one was read their rights as bystanders looked on in horror.

This is a forty-four year old picture of me in an actual police lineup. At the risk of disappointing anybody, I am not the criminal here; I was employed by the police department when they arrested two scam artists caught trying to flee the area with some little old lady’s life savings. Four female employees were rounded up to stand in the lineup. Despite putting on as guilty a look as I could manage, the victim correctly identified the two desperados. / /

There are always two sides to every story. which side do you believe? Is it all really as it appears? Have you done more than just scratch the surface? Have you asked all the right questions? Are you sure you have done enough?

A wallaby (actually the same genus as kangaroos, but who’d think to check?) eating a potato stolen probably from the potato farm next door, and fed to him-or-her by some kind hippies. The drought, you see. Got to look after the native wildlife ;) Isn’t it only primates who are supposed to have opposable thumbs? Don’t tell the scientists!
