My Dad is smiling in this photo because there is rain in the rain guage. The previous 2 to 3 days they had rain in the wheatbelt town of York Western Australia. The rains were late but at least we got some. The photo is a little out of focus but I think it has a good effect.

These plum blossoms smell so sweet and the trees are really loaded with blossoms this year. The fruit is a golden color when ripe and very sweet and juicy. I can’t wait till they are ready in July. Photo Taken April 29/2008 in my front yard.

Since 1896, visitors from around the world have travelled on Snowdon Mountain Railway. The 4 coal-fired steam locomotives were manufactured by the Swiss Locomotive & Manufacturing Co. of Winterhur. Three of which are the original ones dating from 1895 and 1896, whilst the remaining one was built in 1922. / The boilers are inclined on the locomotives to ensure that the boiler tubes and the firebox remain submerged when on the gradient, a standard practice on mountain railways. / /

This piece was painted very hurriedly and is thus a bit looser than some of my other work. It is an Acetylene tank and regulator from my workplace. I was striving for a more homogeneous color scheme which causes the viewer to peruse the painting to find the details. Whether I was successful or not is up to the individual viewer. It is painted with Daniel Smith Primatek watercolor paint, 18th century reproduction watercolor paint, and ink on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The texture of the paint and paper combine to create amazing metal effects. Featured in the Tools group in September 2009. / 10th Place Finisher in the Let’s See Numbers challenge. /
