A purple gun for a tree to find it’s life. Too bad we’re using guns to kill….

A little fern that grows under our step. Another upload for my calendar
The beginning of a sunflower forming. Taken with blue filter.
Created for possible inclusion in a local band’s album art. Their concept was ‘The Torture Garden,’ something about the hidden beauty in death and pain, the duality of creation and destruction … or, something like that. This was the second of two pieces created for the project and, by far, the one I’m happiest with. Brush and ink, Charcoal (black and white), red permanent marker, black ultra-fine Sharpie on 9” X 12” charcoal paper.
Teensy’s been sitting in a rosebush all morning after passing finals with flying colors, jetting from the nest, and joining the big wide world. I couldn’t resist taking Teensy’s formal graduation portrait.

In dreams, trees are the symbols of individual growth and development through life. Roots are the foundation: strong and deep means connection with spiritual source; shallow is poor support, unaware of inner strength. The trunk represents the backbone or source of strength. Limbs are talents and abilities, opportunities for self expression. The leaves are the many manifestations of your gifts, the results of flowering or producing in the world. This tree was photographed on Paradise Island, in the Bahamas and was a spot we loitered around alot while there for a week…a most powerful teacher and a magnificent standing person.
Multi exposure of painting and photo of baobab tree. / I just love this one. / Its so good to be able to mix my paintings with other things I see and come up with great images which will be suitable for my next lot of paintings. / What a great life is the life of the artist.
My Spirits Guides wish to let you know that they send you heartfelt compassion. When we are truly enlightened we are able to love ourselves and others unconditionally. We need to understand this inorder to accept certain events and feelings that manifest themselves in our life. If we are able to accept these factors and access our feelings then the door of self -acceptance allows us to walk through. Compassion is not a word used very often today. However, I must stress this to you. Once, you do this, your self -worth will begin to grow and you will not depend on outside influences for acknowledgement. As you begin to learn unconditional compassion towards yourself, your need to criticise and judge others will drop away. My Spirit Guides have made me feel that you may have been too harsh on yourself and shut down feelings which you have experienced. On a daily basis try and find time to sit down and reflect on unconditional compassion for yourself. This will make you feel more comfortable and loving and expand into your whole being. I have unconditional compassion for every emotion I feel. This painting is dedicated to Paul – Painted with My Spirit Guides – With / Healing Thoughts And Love From The Sparrows. As these leaves inched there way up the wall they provided the wall with a framing almost. The leaves were still a lovely green the effects of autumn only mildly visable with a hint of oranges and reds slowly creeping in. /

As I chased around dragonflies near our ponds, this little garter snake surprised me, hanging about in the lily leaves. As we approach the Autumnal Equinox on Tuesday, the snake reminded me of the healing power of the West/Fall manifesting through shedding its skin. A snake does not remove one skin, then vulnerably search out another. The new, pure skin grows beneath the old. What is released is outgrown and useless. If it were not released, it would impair the healthy functioning of the new skin. / The future offers the opportunity for purity and healing through the shedding of skin, as long as you don’t let your new skin grow back to resemble the old… I have been working on the newest installment of Mind Soundtracks for EarthMonster Illustrated and harvesting a bounty of heARTworks found here on RB from my colleagues and the subject matter is along these same lines of releasing the old for new and better change. Hope you check it out for October release and even better, maybe join the group here too – EMI Waiting on the world to change John Mayer
A symbolic depiction of somebody who has settled down, and stopped searching. It is an illusion, of course, because we never stop searching as long as we live, but is a depiction of finding some extent of spiritual peace.
