Mixed medium photo based illustration of hands in meditation with tree.
I find this simple image reminds me of shoots or bulbs of a plant dividing off from the parent organism. It is another fractal, derived from an algorithm I found when I made a programming error :) One of the reasons I write my own software instead of one of the very powerful and nicely designed fractal programs out there, it’s easier to make mistakes and sometimes I like the mistakes better than the intended result.
Another tree like fractal, I have a lot of these :) Two versions, same fractal different colouring.

A purple gun for a tree to find it’s life. Too bad we’re using guns to kill….

The koru is often used in Maori art as a symbol of creation. / The koru shape is a scroll shape and is linked to the New Zealand fern. The shoot of the fern has a curled-over tip which unfurls and becomes a fern leaf. “The koru reaches toward the light, striving for perfection, encouraging new positive beginnings…. / The koru represents the unfolding of new life, that everything is reborn and continues. It represents renewal and hope for the future. / Spiral, geometry of life, sacred creation….” from : Aotearoa.co.nz / /
Part of the beauty of the old growth forests is in the way new life forms on anything dead, the way moss, lichen and fungi take over old dead tree branches. So green and vibrant!! / Captured in the old growth forest area of Mt. Victoria Forest Reserve, north East Tasmania.
Teensy’s been sitting in a rosebush all morning after passing finals with flying colors, jetting from the nest, and joining the big wide world. I couldn’t resist taking Teensy’s formal graduation portrait.
Heartwood is the dead wood at the center of a trunk or branch of a tree. Although it no longer sustains the tree’s life by conducting water, it does supply support. / I find wonderful symbolism in the definition of a tree and what characterizes “heart”as giving strength and support. A peak inside the heart of this old tree shows an interesting curl. Almost as if it is embracing itself.

Male hands holding a small tree. Hands are dirty.
East opens the day at dawn, / Releasing the Sun / From night’s ebony box. / The mind awakes / with childlike delight. / Spring fills the breeze / with sweet flowers and the / shimmery sound of bells. / Here the birds unfurl their wings / and all the world takes flight. Elizabeth Barrette Ostara brings an optimistic energy as we celebrate the beginning of Spring and a turning point as the Northern Hemisphere once again tilts back towards the Sun. Until this tilt takes place, now is the time of balance – equal day and night – yet also a time of anticipation, as from this night forward, the light once again conquers the darkness. Digital art inspired by natural wonders in life! :)
A symbolic depiction of somebody who has settled down, and stopped searching. It is an illusion, of course, because we never stop searching as long as we live, but is a depiction of finding some extent of spiritual peace.
I grew some shallots in my garden, and pulled them out a few weeks ago. Most of them were used, but this one made it rather lazily to the garlic bowl on the bench. Not the fridge, not wrapped, not in water. I never expected it to survive, but as the days went by I found it an almost intruiging experiment. To my surprise, the shallot sprouted a beautiful flower, which has just started opening. / It reminded me of the resilience of life, of how we can still bloom even in the direst of circumstances. If a shallot can do it, surely a human can!!!
