Scanning old negatives from my archive, I have found a photograph of Cinque Torri (Five Towers) and Tofanas taken very late in the afternoon. I liked the combination of dark clouds and remaining summer haze that made the background looking very flat like in a painting. Just before clouds covered the sun completely, last rays fell on the Cinque Torri, a group of rocks very popular by climbers. To complete the feeling I had about the picture, I’ve applied ‘colored pencils’ filter in post-processing of this photograph. Dolomiti, Italy. August 2001. Canon EOS 500N, Sigma 28-135. Post-processing: retouch, sharpening, colored pencils, color enhancement, blend modes. Detail of the image showing the ‘color pencils’ effect:

This image shows the variety that the Fallow Deer come in, from a chocolate brown, white or spotted. Their native range is Europe and Asia, but have been introduced to habitats all over the world. Their antlers are flattened and are shaped like the palm of a human hand, and these deer keep their spots throughout their lifetime. They grow to a height of 3 1/2 feet at the shoulder and can weigh anywhere from 65 to 225 pounds. Their natural diet is made up of grasses, nuts, berries, herbs, bark, fungi and dead leaves. As we look at the scene before us, we see many lights in the sky. / And since man first walked upon this Earth, he as always wondered what they were, those lights in the night sky. / Has he became more aware through technological advances, he sort of understood what they could be. / And even to this day he still wonders, what hides in the great blue yonder. It draws us forever to explore the vast unseen, we know the substance of it, its there before our eyes. / But what do those lights in the sky really hide from our eyes. They hide the….... Substance – of things not seen This is my entry into the challenge ” The Substance of things not seen” And of course for me it would be about the void beyond this Earth. The edge of never as always being a mixture of many things from across time and space. / So its only right that somebeing should open a bistro dedicated to the gods of ancient Egypt. / For do we really know anything about these same ancient gods, is not all we know really just conjecture. / And here at the very edge of never, will our questions will be answered…..probably not. / But still’ enjoy the moment, step through this doorway to a bistro in Space & Time…................at the edge of Never. / The food may not even be recognizable, but nothing ventured nothing…..... The river Liese wends her way to the Darkwind Sea in the northlands of Galrath. / On her way she passes many lands, but by far the strangest is the forbidding Darkling Wood. / Liese is a swift river with many rapids and falls, yet in the 300 miles through the Wood her angry waters are almost deathly calm. / When running the river one must stay in the very center of the stream, this a hard thing to do, for the currents try to pull the boat to shore. / An untold number of beings have been lost in the passage, for the Darkling Wood holds many secrets, and a great many souls. At least this is what legends, myths and stories tell. And when running the river under the great moon Rakanoth and her dark child Shadow, it is very easy to believe these myths, whether they be fact or fiction. And the entity of the Darkling Wood plays many tricks with the mind. This is a scene from the 2341 film ” Worlds of the Celts “ As with all my work its best viewed in ZOOM mode
I saw this mural on a garage door in Paris. I did some photo-editing (of course) to get this intensity but I so LOVE it. :)
