  • The hoarfrosted world on this early 2007 December morning on the grounds of the country-house Groeneveld near Baarn in the Netherlands was really an enchanted world. Seldom have I seen such a rich hoarfrost layer on trees and plants. Groeneveld near Baarn, 22nd December 2007, 9,46 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 18 mm / F 14, 1/60, ISO 200

  • It was a wonderful summer-morning on that 1st August 2007. I had managed to get up in time before sunrise and cycle the 5 miles to the grounds of the country-house of Groeneveld near Baarn/The Netherlands. A marvellous place for beautiful shots. Especially at that early morning hour when the sun hits the low mist, as it did here at 6.30 am. Half an hour later it is all gone and it is just a normal summer morning. So you have to be right on time! Groeneveld, 1st August 2007, 6,29 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 95 mm / F 25, 1/80, ISO 200

  • It was in mid-April, the second day after I had bought the new Nikon D80 when the weather here provided a perfect sunrise morning with some mist. Nothing more quickly done in the morning than rushing with my bike towards the paradisical grounds of the country-house of Groeneveld near Baarn where I so often shoot. And I can tell you: it was worth it! Groeneveld, 12th April 2007, 7.30 am / Nikon D 80 with Nikkor 18-200 mm at 52 mm / F 9, 1/160, ISO 200

  • If you look closely, you can see on this shot from the park of the country-house Groeneveld near Baarn/The Netherlands that spring is just round the corner here. Groeneveld, 9th April 2008, 8.28 am / Nikon D 80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 112 mm / F 9, 1/30, ISO 200

  • The challenge in Stream Crossings on “Streams in winter” inspires me to dig out a shot from the best hoarfrost day that I ever experienced in my photographic life (I remember some from my youth, but that was long ago and very long before the age of digital photography). / This shot was taken in the most beautiful park of the country-house of Groeneveld near Baarn which you know already from quite a few shots. Groeneveld, 22nd December 2007, 10.00 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 200 mm / F 10, 1/60, ISO 200 Here two more shots from that great morning in Groeneveld park: And here a later shot of this bridge from November 2008:

  • One more visit to the hoarfrosted world in Groeneveld park of last December, as so many of you reacted so enthusiastically to my submission of the little bridge there. With ever so many thanks for all delightful comments and favs! Some of you may wonder about the colours. This picture was taken just after sunrise when the light of the first sunbeams of the rising sun hit these trees, indeed creating this miraculous effect. So the miracle of the hoarfrost was enhanced by these first morning sunbeams, making it all into a really enchanted winter world. Groeneveld near Baarn, 22nd December 2007, 9.06 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 28 mm / F 7.1, 1/60, ISO 200

  • It was a frosty morning in early April last year when I once again visited the wonderful grounds of the country-house Groeneveld near Baarn where so often I have been able to find and capture nature´s beauty. I was not disappointed on this day either. It cannot be denied that this is an artificial landscape, not a natural one, as it is a mixture of a park and the meadows of a farm. But it is just this mixture which is so full of harmony and beauty that it attracts me again and again. And with me hundreds of other people. Fortunately, however, they do not tend to go out on early frosty mornings … I am sure that you would, would you not? So I might meet you there during a dreamful walk? I would like to dedicate this shot to Ginger Barritt. She was so kind as to recommend my gallery in her latest journal in very moving words. To thank her publicly with all my heart is the least I can do. Please take a look yourself at her material which shows a rich sense of beauty. Please press here Groeneveld near Baarn, 9th April 2008, 8.04 am / Nikon D80, Nikkkor 18-200 mm at 70 mm / F 32, 1/60, ISO 200

  • You know this little bridge from the park of the country-house of Groeneveld near Baarn already from an earlier submission of mine showing it in the glory of a magnificent hoarfrost day in December 2007. Here you can see it when autumn was in full splendour in November 2008. Groeneveld, 7th November 2008, 10.50 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 46 mm / F 9, 1/40, ISO 200 Featured in: “Safe Haven”. Here the earlier shot:

  • The park of the country-house of Groeneveld near Baarn is a wonderful place for walks. And for taking pictures. So many of you will know parts of the park by now from my shots. / Indeed this morning in late September was very much worth going there again. Indeed I wish I could be there now! Under the same circumstances! It is a place to heal your soul. On a grey February morning like today it is just a dream. Near Baarn, 24th September 2008, 9.11 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 170 mm / F 18, 1/40, ISO 400 Featured in “Your Magic Place”.

  • This picture is my 400th submission to this Redbubble gallery. I have chosen for an older shot, taken at my first visit to the park of the country-house Groeneveld, two days after I had bought my Nikon D80. / For me it expresses my sincere hope to be able to go out on such dreamlike mornings many times in future too and then share my pictures with you. Often enough I shall only be able to offer you the scenes you know by now, but hopefully you will enjoy them in a new variation. Groeneveld, 12th April 2007, 7.28 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 50 mm / F 10, 1/250, ISO 180 Indeed there is another shot taken at this scene already on this gallery, submitted long ago. I find, however, that the setting of this one is different enough to show it to you after all. And you can decide now which you like better. Here the other shot:

  • Taken on an early morning in August 2007, this picture is one of the most popular ones of my jchanders-gallery on deviantArt. So it is high time to share it with you here, too. In the weeks to come I shall do so with those top-shots of my three galleries over there which you do not know yet. After all they are certainly also worth your attention. Again this shot was taken on the grounds of the country-house Groeneveld near Baarn, the wonderful scene of so many of my pictures. Groeneveld, 1st August 2007, 6.24 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 50 / F 11, 1/60, ISO 200 Here a later sunrise shot of the same scene, taken earlier in the year though in April 2009. So the sun rises further to the right (=the south):

  • Another shot from last week´s morning tour to the grounds of the country-house Groeneveld near Baarn/The Netherlands. On this wonderful misty morning in mid-April the sun was late in sucking up the mist, and so the well-known lane shortly after sunrise came over like the entrance to some mysterious adventure. Groeneveld, 15th April 2009, 7.11 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm / F 16, 1/50, ISO 200 Another shot of this lane, taken in summer when the sun rose much more to the left in the beginning of August:

  • Unfortunately I missed all the beautiful May mornings this year, as you know already. But there are some shots in my archive which you do not know yet. Here is one of them, taken last year near Groeneveld/The Netherlands, while the sun sent their first beams through the trees and changed a normal forest scene into a stage of bliss. Near Groeneveld, 3rd May 2008, 7.03 am / Panasonic TZ3, 4,6-46 mm at 11 mm / F 4,5, 1/60, ISO 100

  • Another shot from a dreamlike morning in June 2008 on the grounds of the country-house Groeneveld near Baarn/The Netherlands. Groeneveld, 8th June 2008, 6.14 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 42 mm / F 10, 1/20, ISO 200

  • Up till now I had only placed this shot on my esperimenti-gallery on deviantArt. This morning I discovered to my great joy that yesterday it was rewarded with a so-called Daily Deviation. The consequence was that 7500 viewers came along in about 24 hours and that there more than 1500 faves in the same time. / So there is certainly enough reason to share this shot also with all my Redbubble friends here! I hope they will like it too. / Once again it was taken on the grounds of the country-house Groeneveld near Baarn here in The Netherlands. Groeneveld, 20th September 2008, 9.08 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 200 mm / F 14, 1/40, ISO 400

  • Another shot from that spectacular morning three days agon on the grounds of the country-house Groeneveld near Baarn, taken at the side of that beech-tree lane which you know from former submissions. Once again the mixture of haze and sunshine created an enchanted scene. It was a morning when the light just flooded my soul with bliss! I think those sunbeams kissed me too! Groeneveld, 4th August 2009, 7.01 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 200 mm / F 13, 1/100, ISO 400

  • Yes, I was richly rewarded for getting up early the other day when I took my bicycle and went to one of my great shooting places, the grounds of the country-house Groeneveld near Baarn. And as you like them (many, many thanks for all your wonderful comments on the two former submissions), here is another shot from that spectacular morning. Groeneveld, 4th August 2009, 6.36 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 150 mm / F 36, 1/60, ISO 800

  • On a wonderfully misty morning trip which took me yesterday again to the grounds of the country-house Groeneveld near Baarn again, I had the lucky encounter with an unknown girl coming my way on this lane. With her consent I could take some shots. Groeneveld, 27th September 2009, 9.30 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 150 mm / F 22, 1/30, ISO 200

  • A shot taken on my last bike trip on that wonderful misty morning of Sunday 27th September to the grounds of the country-house Groeneveld near Baarn. This is the same lane where I met the girl with the golden hair some moments later. Many of you will understand that this picture has got a completely new meaning for me in the last three days. I could have chosen a shot with light at the end of the tunnel. And I am pretty sure that there will be light at the end of my present tunnel. So many of you here on RB and also on devArt have written and confirmed that there is a good prospect for continuing my beloved photographic activities after the forthcoming operation. Ever so many thanks to them here too. Still this shot appeals more to me today. The feeling at the moment is one of going from the light to an uncertain future. But I shall venture into that mist. Indeed I am sure there is a lot of good to win by going on. Groeneveld, 27th September 2009, 9.23 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 62 mm / F 13, 1/30, ISO 200
