I just watched a few of the Q.T. “Grindhouse” movies. Amazing how something so bad, can be so good. Well, at least funny as hell anyway.
This image, originally pen & ink on Bristol Strathmore paper, takes us back to the noir movies of the 1960’s. Barbara Noir aka Barbara Black is that grind house heroine, that trippin’ dame wielding an AK-47, whose dark demeanor speaks to the shadow in all of us. Don’t be afraid to look at your shadow. I don’t mean give her free reign over your life. I mean, look at her, call her by name, just like you would any other “demon”. She no doubt serves a purpose in your journey, and she might be cooler than you think. The original was done in March of 1991. D~
