The dry and arid conditions of the Australian outback sees many of these dead testaments of the harsh conditions.
A sweet little bird taking a few moments rest. These lil things hardly stay still so it’s often very hard to capture them. Taken in my back yard on a cold winter’s afternoon. I hope you enjoy! :) I’m not too good with birds, which bird is this? / EDIT: Thanks everyone, so this is an Eastern Bluebird :) Such a pretty little thing! Random work:

Old dilapidated barn with rustic red doors. This old barn will be torn down sometime this month. Someone in the neighborhood complained that it was an “eye sore”.... so sad! Image was redone for me in HDR by Kimberly Palmer.
A tops’l schooner has been wrecked ashore in shallow water, in the North East coal harbour of Cullercoats, circa1880’s. Most winter’s saw at least one sailing ship wrecked at the mouth of the river Tyne. A Victorian photo from my priceless book, was used for the painting. Watercolour and HB pencil drawing. 12” x 8”.
Double exposure of blossom on old wood (Holga).
Country road through the forest in the winter.
this young lady is quite the talented singer! / she had me do her promo shots for her upcoming album! / she may be moving to Nashville Tennesse to be signed there! / Let’s cross our fingers for Paige, and hope to see her in the near future, taking over the country music scene.

Title: Innocent Partner / Medium: Acrylic on stretched canvas / Size: 500mm x 600mm / 2nd Prize winner in the Dunedin International Airport Art Awards / Original SOLD This was a painting I recently finished. It was an art challenge held by the New Zealand Art Guild. Four things ha to be incorporated in an artwork, they were: / innocence, orange, umbrella and triangle. Here is Little Red Riding Hood (the innocent) although she doesn’t look it here…with the Big Bad Wolf who has offered her shelter under his umbrella as it has started to snow again. She is on her way to take some fruit (orange amongst them) to her elderly Grandma who lives in a cottage deep in the forest. I wanted to interpret ‘triangle’ in the three character relationship i.e. Little Red Riding Hood, her Grandma and the Big Bad Wolf. Alternatively sections of the umbrella are triangular in shape.

Self-portrait The concept first originated when I noticed some time back that my pendant and blazer almost matched in colour, and I was going to name this “The Colour of Wood”. However that idea changed as I recalled a memory flashback. So recently I was wished a friend a Happy Birthday on Facebook; then I suddenly remembered a very sad memory around the same time back in 2004. It was my first year in university and only about a month had passed. I was invited to this girl’s birthday party. I had lots of work to do and I was debating on it. But finally I decided to go as it was the time to get to know new people better. So on the day of the party I was getting ready; then suddenly I got a phone call saying that I should come home; my grandfather had just passed away… I could not believe what I was doing during the last minutes that my grandfather lived; getting ready for a party when I should have been getting work done. My grandfather lived in Japan; and my mother was going to head there to attend his funeral, so I went home for the weekend to see her off. From then on I never went to a party during school (with the exception of one which was a bit like an exhibition; or term end celebrations). The key around my neck was one I carved when I was 17 from a wood print block; which originally belonged to my grandfather. Now his ashes have become a part of the earth, growing into trees; some which later turn into manmade object like my pendant. Featured in: / The Woman Photographer
