I took this photograph while visiting my family in Switzerland. This is my aunt’s orchard, during one of those long, foggy winters when everything seems perpetually covered in hoarfrost. Treated in photoshop. Unfortunately, I took this before I upgraded to a Canon Rebel, so it’s low res and only available as a card here on RB, though I’ve successfully enlarged it to a 5×7.
Taken with a Minolta 5xi on Agfa film.
Some say the world will end in fire, / Some say in ice. / From what I’ve tasted of desire / I hold with those who favor fire. / But if it had to perish twice, / I think I know enough of hate / To say that for destruction ice / Is also great / And would suffice. / – Robert Frost Posterlounge Store – Portfolio/Blog – deviantART Shop / “To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.”

Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado…..and how I love shooting up there when the winter weather begins to roll on in…the wind is bad, the air—-freezing cold, but the images that one can capture are filled with atmosphere and drama, case in point, this shot here. I about froze my butt off getting this shot of Mummy Mountain, but I wanted something that really showed all the detail here….that represented what it’s all about being a nature photographer in Colorado…... / Thoughts welcomed! / HDR blending used to bring out more dramatic light and detail / John

The main stencil image is one layer of the four layer stencil I created in early 2008 inspired by my interest in fashion photography. ‘Snow and Umbrella’ is 1 of 3, utilising the same same stencil and composition of works I’ve posted on Red Bubble at the moment. The other is ‘Rain Birds’ and ‘Umbrella and Rain’.
A sketch of two birds having a chat on a cold winters day. You can also wear these friends everywhere you go… /
A girl’s gotta have a thick Winter coat. Bribed Lizzi with ice-cream to get her to pose in front of the softbox. /

It was a dreary and grey day today. The fog was so thick so I decided to go for a drive to one of the lighthouses. This is an old outhouse hanging over the edge of the cliff next to the lighthouse. This is what the lighthouse keeper would use to scratch that itch… lol. It’s probably about 100 feet to the ocean straight below. / / What you can’t see in the image is that behind the outhouse there is nothing but open ocean for the next 3000 miles. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / Canon 400D/XTI / 3 Shots.
