  • The first thing we did when we reached Wildwood, New-Jersey for our last family vacation was to park the car close to the beach, remove our shoes and go for a walk in the sand. We didn’t even go to our lodgings first… that could certainly wait! The boys (17, 16 and 14), who were still dressed in short and t-shirt from the 11-hour car ride, ran into the water all dressed up, while mom and dad just looked around and relaxed a bit. A father and son were flying a kite a short distance away, and I thought that its bright colours looked great against the dark cloudy sky. Just as I whipped out my camera to make the shot, the sun peeked out from behind the clouds, making the kite look as if it were dancing on a sun ray… What a great welcome! :-) Focal length 55mm / ISO-100 / Aperture f/14 / Shutter 1/800 sec. Nikon D60 / AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f3.5-5.6G VR Featured in Mood and Ambiance – Strictly Photos on December 31, 2008

  • Dinner got delayed once again… I couldn’t resist the colors outside my window. Captured with Nikon D50

  • Walking around in Northern Sydney, post storm. A setting sun shining through the clouds provided this end-of-the-world, fire-in-the-sky appearance. I adjusted the contrast and brightness slightly, to get it back to what we actually saw, and increased the yellow in a colour balance, and was able to achieve this darker, moody image. I felt the arena light is a direct contrast of how powerful nature can be in comparison to what man can make. The bright lights of the arena seem completely drowned in the light show that the sky is putting on in this shot. There’s something devastating about this photo, almost like everything is about to be lost in a natural disaster. Featured in Colours Of The Wind Canon SX100IS MCN: CD289-A0CF1-B8900

  • Abstract Macro Photograph Accidental Art / Peeling paint

  • A unique & lovely night time image of a sunset as seen with palm tree silhouettes in the foreground….nice & soft! Enjoy this picture I took while on vacation with my lovely daughters in Perdido Key, Florida! Smiles Leilani
