Multiple storms on the Arizona desert…....one just leaving…....one just arriving…... as the sun sets.
Sunset in California foothills. There was a high ceiling of wildfire smoke above the clouds.
Here’s one of my oldest son at the beach right before a storm.. I love the cloud formations.

A pic I took in June of country landscape- barn, dark sky, etc., after a huge, wonderful thunderstorm.
as usual, 4 seasons in one day / /
This is all that remains of a very old, rather long pier at Clifton Springs that sailing ships used to berth at 100+ years ago when bring passengers to the ‘healing waters’ of the natural springs in the area during that era.
Taken on New Year’s Eve 2007 on the Eastern Shores of Lake Connewarre. / What a dramatic, colourful end to the year !!
The stuff ‘Fairy Tales’ are made of !!
Some of the wild surf at Bells Beach and Winki Pop, created as a result of the strong, gale force winds during the previous day.
Guess my head is in the clouds these days. Probably from being in the mountains during the past weekend. Taken Wednesday May 21st/08 as an impending storm circulated the Lake of Two Mountains, Deux-Montagnes, Qyuebec, Canada!
The Split Point lighthouse at Airey’s Inlet reflects the dusk tones on rainy, stormy evening as it stands as an ever welcome signal to many sailors as they navigate around the treacherous Southern coast of Australia. Located on the Great Ocean Road.
Monsoon just minutes after passing by and heading up into Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona, Arizona! This storm was producing marble size hail with strong wind and rain. It was very dark and I thought the storm would not let up until after sundown. I was surprised by how fast the storm passed & just as the sun was setting. I did have my camera out trying to capture lightning but visibility was horrible so I had already put the camera/tripod away. I was totally taken off guard by this beautiful sight from my balcony and was unable to set the camera back up in time to capture the rainbows at their brightest! However, I’m very pleased with this shot…it is my personal favorite-to-date! It is so ironic that all the hiking and driving I do to different locations, I captured this one on the balcony of my apartment. Pentax K20D / Pentax DA 18-250mm lens / FL 21.9 / 1/45 sec / F3.5 / Raw-to-Jpeg (unedited)

Following on from the success of my Camotrooper tee, comes Magmatrooper! Take a trooper, dip him in a volcano and name him king of the magma men… ok, I’m ranting on about who knows what now : ) Enjoy!
The contrasts between the cloud and the field of Rape Seed was too much to miss.
I so should not have been where is was sitting to get this photograph of Lands End, UK. Within seconds of this shot being taken I was covered in spray and the grass became quite slippery around me. I did sit there for quite some time marveling at the power of the ocean, it was hypnotic. Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 70mm, f/9, 1/640 sec, ISO 250. No filters used and hand held. A small amount of dust and scratches removed in photoshop. A contrast map and hue deference in photoshop.
