Old chap in Udaipur. His glasses were an instant hit! Obviously very dear to him too, he had taped them together at several places to hold the pieces together!

I’d driven from the scottish borders to ben nevis, (the highest peak in uk) to meet some damp friends through low cloud and light rain…so the few shots I took were pretty glum and dismal looking….. But after slight tweaking I liked the wetness of this classic sight with every blade of grass just laden with moisture and the light rain still falling… Typical camping weather! / / View large to see in full ‘soggy-vision’ ... ;)) Taken with an old compact nikon coolpix 4800

puddle reflection on a parking place from a building on a contructionsite
A rather gloomy, threatening, stormy morning at Mogg’s Creek, situated between Airey’s Inlet and Lorne, on The Great Ocean Road.
I’m not entirely sure how I did this. I know I took away the background from the tiny Small Copper butterfly, perched it on some leaves floating in the lake & fiddled with some layer stuff. It’s just for fun, not a serious attempt at layering, but it’s a beginning. The butterfly should have a reflection, one day it might, if I can figure it out. I don’t think I can do this again as it was all just playing and I can’t remember the sequence of events, but who knows where it will lead? / 011208 / PSE7 This sky where we live / Is no place to lose your wings. / So love, love, love. / Hafiz حافظ Human beings are members of a whole, / In creation of one essence and soul. / If one member is afflicted with pain, / Other members uneasy will remain. / If you have no sympathy for human pain, / The name of human you cannot retain. / Saadi “Of one Essence is the human race, / thus has Creation put the base; / One Limb impacted is sufficient / For all Others to feel the Mace ” / —Saadi (1184–1283) “There is only one sacred manuscript, the sacred manuscript of Nature, which alone can enlighten the reader.” Hazrat Inayat Khan All profits from my sales will be donated to Butterfly Conservation. views: 433 / favs: 15 Image straight from the camera. Taken on January 11, 2009 with an Olympus FE-340 It was the first day of the year that the weather in London was beautiful so I spent the day outdoor walking through the parks, and the squirrels are very friendly. This particular shot was in Green Park. While I was trying to set-up my camera to take a photo, this little guy suddenly climbed up my leg! (I missed the opportunity to take its picture while it was there) I looked down at it, and it looks to the side as though saying “I didn’t do anything…” (see image in first comment), then it runs behind me and tries to climb up my knapsack; then runs in front me, spirals up the pole and pokes its head to the side going “Peek-a-boo!” After it climbed down I brought my hand out. It grabbed my finger for a little while, but took off before I could get a picture then :-( ... But atleast I captured the funny Peek-a-boo moment! The light and dark areas in the eye may look like the iris and the sclera of the eye, but that is actually caused by reflections; The dark bit at the bottom left corner of the eye is a reflection of myself with the camera:
This is for the HDIR group challenge. The original image is infrared. Taken on my old FujiFilm FinePix with an R72 filter attached. I used Topaz Adjust to get the HDR effect on the leaves of the tree. The challenge stipulates a reflection….so I made one ..(I hope) by inverting the original image and adding some motion blur and altering the perspective. Then I added a layer of texture ..I felt it just needed something else to finish it off. Oh, and the title comes from a band called “LIVE” from their CD “Mental Jewelry” It’s playing at the moment on my computer and I thought it was appropriate.
Shot with a Canon EOS 350D with Canon EFS 60mm macro lens. / As is .
Art, it is what it is. Just a quick painting done mostly with a napkin, my fingers and a knife. Acrylic on canvas with more of a watercolor effect – done very quickly and very roughly. A little something to clear my mind. Less is sometimes more. /
Everytime we travelled past a row of trees or through a tunnel, I caught the reflection of the couple sat in front of me. / I composed the shot and waited for the next opportunity, only to get a passing train instead. Not a word was said between them throughout the whole two hour journey. EXIF DATA: Canon EOS 40D / 22mm, F/4.5, 1/500 sec, ISO-400 / Tripod: NO, Flash: NO
