I shot this in natural light from a window and reflected light back on the model with a mirror on the opposite side of her. Adjustments made in PSCS3. This was “painted” with my Wacom Bamboo tablet using Corel Painter Essentials 4. This is my second attempt and I have so much to learn but I’m having a blast with my new Christmas present!! I wanted this to look like an oil painting and I used the oil paint>tapered camel hair brush for most of the paiinterly effects.

Another subsection of the portrait gallery starts today…this is painted in watercolour on St Armand hand made linen paper…I was priveleged to visit the mill in Quebec, some years ago and was given a small mold and some pulp to start making my own paper, which I still make to this day…of course not so big…this is 3ft x 2ft…the white colour I used here is a smalll amount of body colour…the paper is terracotta…the title refers to a song by the same name…one of my favourite songs by a top Canadian group... Generally, women live in their particular universe, not feeling free enough or sometimes feeling oppressed. The woman in this painting, in this particular moment, feels free in her nudity.
