I was trying to capture the whole environmental aspect here…..and what may happen in the future if changes are not made…(its already happening – photo was taken in Tumut last year).
My take on the global warming issue!

Outside the greenhouse of Gerberas I found these magnificent Gerberas thrown away. I’m not sure if because of overabundance, ..or maybe it used to enrich the ground later, ” to feed ” future Gerberas. My evaluation is that 0.000001 part of the field is thrown away. So please enjoy the thrown away flowers..I think there are SO WARMLY BEAUTIFUL…Thanks for the visit…Copyrights© Nira Dabush

The beautifully restored greehouses at the Sheffield Botanical Gardens, Yorkshire UK. The Gardens first opened in 1836 with these glass pavilions (greehouses) built some time after. The gardens were in some decline before the whol garden was restored from 1997-2003 and this building was officially re-opened by HRH The Prince of Wales on 1 September 2003. I think this is the most difficult picture I have ever taken haha. The light was reflecting back from the glass. All I could see in my lens was me haha. I aimed and fired, I had absolutely no idea what I would get, so I am more than pleased with what turned out, even though they are not as clear as I would have liked, but the greenhouse door was locked haha. hugs

As the movement of clouds here, during the last few days, brought the first rain – ” HAYORE.. we’re entering the Autumn… / This year, the first rain came here a bit sooner then the usual… I’m sure, it’s YOU, over there, my friends who send your prayers, and rain drops from your countries :).. via mail :) / The rain will bring it’s blessings for the new year. Entering the new year, here in Israel… / Photo montage: Clouds above my town, photo from few days ago… mixed with fields of Gerberas, photos from summer time. / May this year be a blessed one… / Shana tova ! When we moved into our present house, this greenhouse was already standing in our back garden, with the back part of the garden over grown in weeds, but with the setting sun, it really brought the whole garden to life. It has a ‘secret garden’ feel to the shot. Fuji FinePix S5600 bridge camera, f/3.6, shutter 1/340, ISO 200

Background Information: / A wind turbine is a rotating machine which converts the kinetic energy in wind into mechanical energy. If the mechanical energy is used directly by machinery, such as a pump or grinding stones, the machine is usually called a windmill. If the mechanical energy is then converted to electricity, the machine is called a wind generator, wind turbine, wind power unit (WPU), wind energy converter (WEC),or aerogenerator. This article discusses electric power generation machinery. Windmill discusses machines used for grain-grinding, water pumping, etc. The article on wind power describes turbine placement, economics and public concerns. The wind energy section of that article describes the distribution of wind energy over time, and how that affects wind-turbine design. See environmental concerns with electricity generation for discussion of environmental problems with wind-energy production. WHY RIDE A MOTORCYCLE? / Motorcycles and scooters emit less greenhouse gas than cars. They also reduce traffic congestion, save travel time, are cheaper to manufacture, more economical to run, and take up less parking space.
global warming is not cool I was reading yesterday… “Twenty-one animal species, including the cheetah, three dolphin families and an Egyptian vulture, were added to the list of those in danger of extinction by a UN conference that ended Friday…” / article link 21 new species face extinction while there are many factors at play here — CO2, obliterated habitat, genetic inbreeding to noise pollution — one thing is clear, humans are uniquely and paradoxically positioned as both perpetrator and saviour. power is not to be squandered.
Just a fun shot I did through a greenhouse window where they were growing lovely flowers. A bit of darkening and added the moon (of course, or there’d be no reflection to speak of!) ;-)
This is a geeky 80’s design created for the Earth Hour Challenge. / / If you understand it then it means you’re old enough to be a fair contributor to the world energy problem and an equal part of the solution. / / But what is the solution? / / Well it’s clear to me that not just one but a whole range of newer, greener, renewable energy sources will save the day and I believe that people like you and me should be given the option to choose between them on our power bill. Whether they be nuclear, solar, geo-thermal, nano tubes and so on. / / Freedom of choice is what we want. Which is in fact a lyric from that crazy 80’s pop rock band, Devo. / / The red things are the hats Devo alway wear which they call “Energy Domes”, claiming they can actually harvest energy from your own head. / / Now that’s a solution I’d really like to see. / / *This is my first attempt at using Adobe Illustrator so all comments and critiques are very welcome. / / / / /
/ A new addtion to the Still Life series, “Still Life with Old Dandelion Stencil and Terracotta Pots” pays tribute to the lovely art of stenciling that experienced a resurgence in the 80s then got overexposed and trite…well know in Europe for centuries, in North America itinerant stencillors made a good living going from town to town with their tools…evidence of their beautiful work still remains today and is shown in museums around the world... / I chose to infuse this painting with the flavour of an old garden room, where the plaster has fallen off and the single stencil though greatly worn with age still looks beautiful…the terracotta pots which are so delightful to paint, add to the feeling of age…I have a number of these ancient pots, and though they are still under wraps right now, I know them so well I think I can reproduce them in my sleep...
