The Grass Really Is Greener…. This crafty cow threaded its long horns through the barbed wire fence, got down on its knees, and munched the grass just outside its normal reach. Aren’t we a lot like that? Going through all sorts of trouble to grab “something better” when everything we need is usually right under our feet! / P.S. In case you’re wondering, I did watch as the process reversed itself and the bovine wonder gingerly manuevered its head and massive horns back through the wires, straightened its knees, and returned to home base without a hitch.

When I saw this bull in a kneeling position, eating grass on the opposite side of the fence, I turned the car around and stopped to take its photo. I thought it was a classic photo to illustrate the old cliche, “The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.”

I first read of Oink in fellow Red Bubbler , Jennifer Woodward’s Journal You can get most of the story there , Oink is a 15 year old , 1 1/2 ton Water Buffalo that has been the victim of attacks from “yobs” which being American I really have no idea what that is , I’m guessing our equivelant of a punk . Anyway , these thugs have attacked Oink with bricks, set his hay on fire and put soap in his feeding troth . I was so sickened to hear that someone would actually do this, I felt compelled to donate to his fund which was set up to build a security fence to protect him . I found that I wanted to more though , so I have done some Oink design tees ( this being the fifth ) that I will be uploading , with all proceeds being donated to Oink’s fund . In the many fields I walk daily with the dog- I am always amazed at the different grasses growing, very little of it is just green, there are many shades of pinks and browns, and come in different types and textures- well I find it interesting, hope you do to – at least a little!!
