I’ve leapt half way around the world to check out a festival in England. Still jetlagged, it felt completely normal to get up at 5.30am for this shot.

Looking down from my kitchen window onto the greenbelt it is covered in snow. A lovely spot to view everyday…..... The tree across the stream went down 13 years ago to the day in another snow storm and blizzard.
This fox sneaked up on me, while I was taken pictures of something else. I had gotten a late start this morning, and didn’t think I would see any foxes that day. So, when I had my camera pointing towards a big beehive up in a tree, this fox walked up on the log. A big surprise for me when I lowered my camera, but I managed to get two good shots before he continued his morning walk. / f/8, 1/250 sec, ISO 400, focal length 300 mm. I took my daughter with me to the Greenbelt area this morning. We got to see several foxes, and also two coyotes. Pretty exciting. Lots of the foxes are very used to people in this area, but they got a little skittish today, with the coyotes around. This seemed to be comfortable. Maybe the coyotes had left. They can sense them so much better than we humans. We mostly rely on what we see, but they hear, see, and smell. / Image cropped, since I didn’t like the composition I made in the camera. / Nikon D80, 70-300 mm lens / f/6.3, 1/1000 sec, ISO 400, focal length 200 mm
A few happy steps on a beautiful Saturday morning, in Greenbelt area, Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Or maybe he was trying to keep track of the coyotes that were sneaking around. / Nikon D80, 70-300 mm lens / f/6.3, 1/640 sec, ISO 400, focal length 170 mm / Some cropping done in PSE 3.
I met up with some other fox-o-holics here at RB, this morning, over in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. It was a wonderful morning. Spring is here, the birds were telling us with their singing. I didn’t stay around very long, and didn’t get a whole of pictures today, but I’m sure you will see a bunch of fox pictures posted from the other members, Gary, Jay, Kasey, Kat, and Jonathan. / Nikon D80, 70-300 mm lens / f/5.6, 1/160 s, ISO 800, focal length 300 mm
Spring break for my kids is over, and it seems like winter is, too. That was one snowy spring break. Not as bad as the blizzard in -03, when we couldn’t get anywhere for a few days. But plenty of snow on the ground. That provides a nice background for the red foxes, especially in the early mornings. I like the combination of red fur and blue looking snow. / Nikon D80, 70-300 mm lens / f/5.6, 1/400 sec, ISO 800, focal length 300 mm
I thought I would be able to move on to spring flowers, or at least something less wintry, but winter doesn’t want to let go of Colorado, not yet. We’re having a major blizzard here right now, and it will probably look like this at the fox hole this weekend again. This picture was taken on March 28, 2009, in the greenbelt area in Wheat Ridge, Colorado / Nikon D80, 70-300 mm lens / f/7.1, 1/640 sec, ISO 400, focal length 300 mm
I thought this image was a little symbolic for me now. We’re moving on, away from winter, into spring and summer. / Nikon D80, 70-300 mm lens / f/6.3, 1/800 sec, ISO 400, focal length 220 mm
Nutty catchs her breath after a long day at the greenbelt, you can even see her chunk that is missing from her tung, the aftermath from when she got hit by a car when she was a puppy…
It was a good climb down into the greenbelt, and then up to the top of my favorite overlook in the belt. As we get settled down and relax after a good hike. We look out to an amazing sunset!

Taken at Mer Bleue Bog in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Mer Bleue Bog is one of the largest bogs in southern Ontario and arguably the most important natural area in the Greenbelt. Ecologically, Mer Bleue is an especially valuable example of a northern ecosystem – more typical of the Arctic than the Ottawa Valley – and it has been designated an internationalsignificant wetland. Taken with my Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 and my Nikon D80.
I took this photo in the evening along an area called the Greenbelt. An amazing sunset and a little color work lead to this effect.
