For over half my life, I lived in small town Alberta. A town of 6000 people, mostly farmers, ranchers and blue collar workers. I couldn’t get out soon enough. Now, after living in the City for 12 years, I can’t wait to get back, if only for a few days. The town is surrounded by fields of Canola and Wheat. An island in an ocean of crops like the one you see now.

Dark, blue-gray storm clouds roll in over the scenic farms and woodlands of the Beaver Valley in Grey County. Taken from atop the 150 meter high cliffs of Old Baldy. in the Old Baldy Conservation Area near Kimberly, Ontario, Canada. This vista is accessible only by foot, on a loop on the Bruce Trail, Canada’s longest hiking trail.

This is the old meteorological station on Gough Island in the South Atlantic Ocean, it is also the only structure on the whole island and home to the 8 memeber team working their. Gough island is a National Heritage site and Nature Reserve. The building is on it’s last legs and will need replacement soon. This photo is a depiction of the “ugly” manmade in a beautiful nature…
