Textured acrylic on deep gallery wrapped canvas.
I’ve played around with my illustrations and layers of scans, found images and textures to get this one where it is.

Featured in Dimensions, Sept. 13, 2009. This is one of my first true attempts at abstract art. I wanted to stretch myself and I didn’t realize how much time and thought this would actually take! Another lovely boat wreck…
Digital finger painting (with a mouse), completed through the wee small hours. I’m having trouble sleeping, too many images in my head. Even when I’m asleep, I’m drawing in my dreams. I’m having so much fun experimenting with digital, it’s a new medium for me and I just love it. FEATURED in ‘Creative Cards’ August, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Lifeline’ August, 2009 /
Watercolour of the 12th century, Haddon Hall, Derbyshire. / Taken from Rinkydink’s original photo. I used lots of lifting off and negative painting, to get the tonal contrasts. I wanted to emphasize the age and wonderful textures of the old stone work – almost a thousand years old. I’ve entered this in the Just Watercolours group challenge. / I really liked the original photo colouring. For this, I needed a limited palette of just four – sienna, umber, cerulean and yellow , which I used in various dilutions and mixtures. St Petersburg watercolour pans. 12 X 8 inches 30×20 cms / Poundworld 90lb paper.

I took the viewfinder and my Canon down to the beach on Sunday to take some summer shots. This is one of the results from that day. The seagull flew into the shot and I didn’t notice it until I started processing this one. There was a feeling of closure and finality in this shot with the gull included. I really enjoy a bright sunny day with a few clouds scattered across the sky. Especially sitting down on the beach, really makes me feel like a kid again. Original shot cropped and layered once, with hue adjustment and a warming filter added. See here for instructions on how to create this image.
