I found this unique looking plant at a park in San Francisco (Golden Gate Park, to be exact). I love not only the symmetry but the geometry of this plant and it’s uniqueness because I’ve never seen anything else like this. This photo was asked to be used in as the cover of a children’s science book in South America. I didn’t use any Photoshop at all on this image. Just a tiny bit of Picasa! The plant is the same color as it appears in real life.

A baby Veiled chameleon using all five of her limbs. You may remember her form the May 2007 issue of National Geographic – the photo was a winner of the monthly “Your Shot” competition. Other favourites include Clear / Distance and Eyebrows of Longevity / Or, from precarious mountain peaks / Cloud Mist Tea (quite delectable) Which competent monkeys harvest / Filling their baskets with choice leaves / And bringing them down to where I wait / With my crock of snow water. A Sago Palm is not a particularly pleasant plant to look at, but the spring fronds when shot with a macro take you into a magical world. You have about 24 hours when they are unfurling like this. / Nikon D80, tripod with Sigma 105mm Macro f13 1/30 ISO640 Viewed more than1,000 times – thanks to all those who have visited!! / Won Circles Challenge for Nikon D80 group and Group Avatar (Dec ‘08) / Won Spiral Challenge for Shapes and Patterns (June 09) Sold as a Framed Photograph, at my first Art Show (Nov 08) and again at Gallery show Feb 09. Sold framed 11×17 to friend, and to a local tradesman after he saw me shooting new growth in one of the sago palms. /
