Work exhibited in the Visual Arts Association Group Exhibition ‘Four Seasons’, held Cairns Regional Gallery, Qld. / Theme – ‘The Four Seasons’ by Vivaldi Background: I had working individually on art compositions relative to my passion to interpret music, rhythm/movement and energy through the use of formal visual art elements ie. line, colour, tone, shape, texture and art media. The interpretation requires one’s senses to hear and feel, absorb sound and energies, to internalize and contemplate, as apposed to recording information seen/perceived through the eyes from the physical ‘outer’ world. One has to create and interpret a visionary abstract, from a pure transitional and spiritual sensual state, from one’s own internal environment, of knowledge, understanding and experience. I jumped at the chance when this exhibition theme came up. Also I am much inspired by Kandinsky and his work, a long time favourite art philosopher and mentor. ....................................... /

I was lucky enough to spend nearly an hour swimming alongside this juvenille green turtle (Chelonia mydas) on the fringing reef at Lady Elliott Island in the Southern part of the Great Barrier Reef. Lady Elliott is a beautiful island that is home to a wide variety of marine life and seabirds. Best of all the resort is reasonably priced fairly basic accommodation unlike most of the rest of the island resorts in the GBR. If you get the chance then Lady Elliott is well worth the trip. During my week long visit I would have seen more than >10 green turtles, hatchlings on the beach, sharks, rays, gourpers and a myriad of other reef fish. The coral reef on the other side of the island is spactacular with huge plate (Acropora sp.) corals everywhere. It is truly magic.

What a magical place this is Natural Bridge (also known as Natural Arch), in the World Heritage-listed, Springbrook National Park, Queensland, Australia. Over millions of years, the waters of the mountain fed Cave Creek has worn away at the basalt cave roof, to create this natural wonder. Home to a colony of glow-worms, only visible after sunset. The short hiking walk takes you through some beautiful rainforest, most of the time, you can hear the falling waters of these falls. A must see if you come to the area! Canon 50D, 14mm. Scaly-breasted Lorikeet This lorikeet is common in most timbered areas of Eastern Australia from Bamaga, the tip of North Queensland, south to Illawarra district on the New South Wales south coast; also on some offshore islands. They are generally confined to coastal plains and adjacent tablelands; occasionally found along watercourses west of the Great Dividing Range. They are abundant and mostly sedentary in north; less numerous and nomadic in the south. Cross processed dicky – ver 2….. Just trying to prepare some images for competitions….what does everyone think of this colouring, too much? Canon 5D, 16-35mm at 21mm, f/16, 1.3” Another from the SS Dicky Series / And here’s the image in black and white!
