  • This is a ruby red lacewing butterfly, and the way it had it’s proboscis inserted into the flower made me think of that moment when we first get a nice thick milkshake, and we are sucking hard on the straw, fighting against the frozen delight to extract it’s sweet creaminess!

  • Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Musk Lorikeet (Glossopsitta concinna) The Musk Lorikeet is found on the coastal east and south-east Australia from south Queensland to the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia and including Tasmania. It is found in eucalypt woodland and along water courses where it feeds on nectar, pollen and blossoms as well as on cultivated fruits and seeds. It has a bright red patch on the forehead which extends behind the eyes onto the ear coverts. The bill is black at the base with a reddish tip. Tasmania, Australia.
