Something besides portraiture for a change! This piece won the College Foundation Purchase Award in the student art show I entered last April. It was my first ever entry into an art show, and I was shocked and elated that I actually won something. Needless to say, I am very proud of this image. © Cadence Gamache This piece was nominated into the Pay It Forward group by the wonderful Melanie Dooley. A Sago Palm is not a particularly pleasant plant to look at, but the spring fronds when shot with a macro take you into a magical world. This is not at all what I originally wanted. I was going for a Kiss metal rock kinda look. But the colors and patterns made me think of a Peacock so I added flowers instead and then it started looking like a sad bride, hence the “the” part in the title as in she was something to be desired.
