I believe we’ve all eaten from this tree, at some time or another.. / / Mixture of digital art + several actual photos. / Work time: 4 or 5 hours (using the magnetic lasso tool in CS3 on / and around every tree branch, then cleaning them up with the eraser +blur) very intricate work. Same thing with the hearts.. /

Inspired by the song The Days Of Pearly Spencer which was based on the story of a homeless man in Ballymena who was befriended by David McWilliams. The song reflected the writer’s deep humanity and his empathy with those who live on the margins of society. / Source Many thanks to Gregoryno6 who reminded me of this song last year, it’s been whirling around in my head since then. This is my beautiful friend Nathalie, in a Tara-style portrait….all photos and textures used my own, with the exception of the original photo of Nat. :) The brightly coloured background image is a pastel drawing my girls and I did together a few weeks ago. All images combined using Photoshop Elements 2.0. Canon Powershot A480 point and shoot for butterfly and textures. Proudly New Zealand-made. :) Uploaded July 27, 2009. Cross processed dicky – ver 2….. Just trying to prepare some images for competitions….what does everyone think of this colouring, too much? Canon 5D, 16-35mm at 21mm, f/16, 1.3” Another from the SS Dicky Series / And here’s the image in black and white! I used this to add the contrast by adding it as a layer and changing the blending mode to luminosity, then dropping the opacity to 50something% Seascapes / New Zealand / Frogs / Lensbaby / Infrared / Industrial / Spam / Panorama / Landscapes / Real Estate Series / People

Notre Dame, Paris, captial city of France. The last in my Notre Dame series. I created six versions of this shot, trying different textures, colours and layers, but this was the first one that moved toward a theme or emotion that I wanted. It feels quite lonely and stripped of hope to me, but I’m sure it will have varied meaning to the individual. Featured in Cityscapes & City Skylines 8 layers of texture from www.deviantart.com free use stock – Amurrr. Lightened each layer, adjusted hue and colour levels, blended each with 3 layers of the photo, one b&w, one colour and one desaturated. Flattened image and further colour tweaking and adjusting.
